The Vicious Amway Cycle

I’d say my husband is average when it comes to figuring out how long many IBO’s stick it out with Amway. Most ambots will quit Amway somewhere between 3 months and a year. That can be an eternity to a wife as she’s subjected to the abuse from upline, their attempts to destroy the relationship, and the money going down the drain while the upline badgers her husband to buy more products, attend all Amway meetings and functions, and invest heavily into the Amway tool scam. Depends on how much money they had in their savings account or how much room is available on his credit card, the losses could be small in the hundreds of dollars or more substantial in the thousands.

The time frame could vary too. I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest that there are a small number of Amway cult leaders who don’t badly abuse their downline and chastise them and insult them and try to destroy their relationships. These slightly kinder cult leaders may have the power to keep their ambots toeing the line for a longer period of time in order to suck more money out of them.

Amway is a vicious cycle. It starts off with some asshole sponsoring your husband into Amway. Then he must go to two or three Amway meetings each week generally held in someone’s living room but might occasionally be held in a hotel meeting room. There usually is no charge for the meetings held at someone’s house but there will be a fee if the Amway meetings is at a hotel. At least a couple of times a month a Diamond in need of a few thousand in cash will show up to speak to the masses. Again could be a hotel meeting room or maybe a school auditorium or something that can accommodate a few hundred brainwashed ambots. These cost $10 to attend but I’ve heard some former IBO’s show up recently to say it costs more but lets stick with $10 nice round figure. About once a month there will be a rally where new pins get to “walk across the stage” which also costs $10 or so to attend and is held somewhere with a stage. There has to be a stage otherwise those brainwashed ambots would be unable to brag about “crossing the stage”. Also about once a month is some useless product seminar probably held in a hotel meeting room where an Amway product is showcased. Probably costs $25 to $50 maybe more to attend. So in an average month there will be 10 to 20 Amway related meetings the ambot must attend.

If the ambot stops attending he will be chastised by the Platinum cult leader who will be relentless in phone calls and text messages bullying the IBO until he buckles down and starts attending again.

That’s why I call Amway a vicious cycle. Once the wife has hope - and remember Amway is all about selling the hope! - that her husband is getting ready to quit because he’s stopped attending all these damned Amway meetings, some upline asshole badgers him and reminds him of his duties to the cult until he breaks down and goes back and buys more Amway products.

Eventually the ambot will find the strength to stop and this will be difficult because of all the love bombing the ambot actually might like some of these Amway assholes. Quitting Amway means quitting all these new friends because no one is allowed contact with former ambots. Quitting these new friends may be hard for the brainwashed ambot because he’s been cut off from his former friends for months now and he’s spent maybe 20 hours or more each week with these new friends attending cult meetings. His priorities are screwed up over who the real friends are. I’ve said it before - if friends are only interested in you for your money then they’re not real friends at all.

Amway is a vicious cycle. Always on the lookout for its next victim. And not discriminatory. Amway will recycle former victims of its cult.

Financial roller coaster. Emotional roller coaster. All I wanted is for this terror park ride to end.

End the Amway cycle.

It will never really end until Amway is shut down and closes its doors forever.

Not everyone learns their lesson the first time around.

Amway is a vicious cycle.

  1. Unfortunately for the nicer ambots, they won't be aggressive enough to pull in downlines and get downlines to do the will of Amway. However, the fact that the ambot trying to recruit me was a former coworker and wasn't a complete asshole did hook me in to go to another meeting, this one at a private residence. Long story short, some of the BS takes on different formats at a private residence vs. hotel conference rooms, but it's still there. I couldn't do it anymore, and then told off the ambot a week later.

And yeah, the fees really do add up. Per month...
$60 for tapes, CDs and other junk
    $10 per meeting... $100 for a month's worth
$300 as a conservative cost for 1/3 of WWDB
$100 to buy from yourself to boost your PV, but really, look to $200 to $300 if you don't want to get bugged by upline

... there are plenty of other expenses, but this is already too much for no benefit. Then there's also the time factor too. All they did was showcase many products, with a couple of them being highlighted since they offered the highest PV.

In the hotel meetings, Diamonds would attend, sit towards the middle (going front to back), and on cue, each of them would stand up, state their name and occupation (for example, Sarah Hues, product manager. John Desrt, software developer) to show that "anyone can do it" and how diamonds come from a diverse background. Dunno if they really are diamonds. Even if they are, I've already attended 2 of these meetings myself. I could swear it's the same people who keep attending these hotel meetings where they try to prospect new people.

    1. Hi ackmondual. I estimate it costs an ambot $500 - $700/month just to meet the minimal requirements imposed by the assholes in their upline and that averages out major function costs. Depending on how much savings/credit card limit the ambot has it could be more than $1000/month just to bask in the glory from some upline Amway asshole that praises him at the next Amway cult meeting. Never thought that there'd be fake plants in the audience pretending to be different levels in Amway but totally can see it happening in a business built on lies and deception. And yes its always the same people at Amway meetings they pay the big bucks to be part of a crowd to impress the very few prospects who got conned into showing up.

    2. One month we put more than $5000.00 on our credit card so we could get 1000 pin level! We were counselled by the dipshits in our Amway upline to stock up on inventory that would be easy to sell. Namely Double X and other vitamins. 2 years later they're still sitting in our storage room and we're still digging out of the debt we got in thanks to this scam.

Oh, forgot about Kommunicate.... $40/mo. That should've been obvious. But yeah, $500 to $1K/mo sounds about right depending on how ambitious things get.

FWIW, I do believe that those diamonds (some or all of them) are real. However, it also makes sense if they were the same diamonds, since they seem to be rare these days.

And yeah, they do have fake plants of sorts. I sat in the back for one of those intro meetings in a hotel conference room, and when the speaker brings up questions where he's looking for audience response ("would you make your own boss rich?"), but gets none, the senior goons standing in the back, mumble canned responses to break the silence and keep the momentum and better image of the presentation going.

      @Brenda
Sorry to hear that! I had a phase where I bought a bunch of stuff on Ebay that I didn't need. In the end I threw out a lot of it, but was able to sell the few piddly stuff at discount to help recuperate some of the wasted $$. Perhaps you could do that with your Amway inventory? Some folks say it's garbage, while others say some can be OK, were it not for how overpriced it were.

Comments are moderated but we publish just about everything. Even brainwashed ambots who show up here to accuse us of not trying hard enough and that we are lazy, quitters, negative, unchristian dreamstealers. Like we haven’t heard that Amspeak abuse from the assholes in our upline!

If your comment didn’t get published it could be one of these reasons:
1. Is it the weekend? We don’t moderate comments on weekends. Maybe not every day during the week either. Patience.
2. Racist/bigoted comments? Take that shit somewhere else.
3. Naming names? Public figures like politicians and actors and people known in Amway are probably OK – the owners, Diamonds with CDs or who speak at functions, people in Amway’s publicity department who write press releases and blogs. Its humiliating for people to admit their association with Amway so respect their privacy if they’re not out there telling everyone about the love of their life.
4. Gossip that serves no purpose. There are other places to dish about what Diamonds are having affairs or guessing why they’re getting divorced. If you absolutely must share that here – don’t name names. I get too many nosy ambots searching for this. Lets not help them find this shit.
5. Posting something creepy anonymously and we can’t track your location because you’re on a mobile device or using hide my ass or some other proxy. I attracted an obsessed fan and one of my blog administrators attracted a cyberstalker. Lets keep it safe for everyone. Anonymous is OK. Creepy anonymous and hiding – go fuck yourselves!
6. Posting something that serves no purpose other than to cause fighting.
7. Posting bullshit Amway propaganda. We might publish that comment to make fun of you. Otherwise take your agenda somewhere else. Not interested.
8. Notice how this blog is written in English? That's our language so keep your comments in English too. If you leave a comment written in another language then we either have to use Google translate to put it into English so everyone can understand what you wrote or we can hit the Delete button. Guess which one is easier for us to do?
9. We suspect you're a troublemaking Amway asshole.
10. Your comment got caught in the spam filter. Gets checked occasionally. We’ll get to you eventually and approve it as long as it really isn’t spam.
