I read an article about what to buy and what to avoid at Walmart. (original link is now dead)
Putting the same theory to the test a similar article could be written about Amway except in the what to avoid column for Amway – EVERYTHING!!!!!
Walmart Winners:
1. Walmart 3 ply toilet paper – costs $5.97 for 12 rolls.
Compared to Amway - Here’s the good news – I don’t think Amway sells their prestige premium toilet paper anymore. Their website shows its no longer available but as I recall the cost was around $60 to $80. Yeah only brainwashed Amway ambots would shell out that kind of money so all the assholes in their Amway upline can split the profits on that hugely overpriced shitty Amway toilet paper.
Here are some reviewers comments on Amway’s prestige toilet paper.
Here’s a review by “sore buns” I wish I could get my money back it is the worst toilet paper I have ever bought.
Another reviewer says : lacks softness and gentleness, must use more to get the job done
2. Walmart paper towels – 6 rolls for $6.84.
Ooop------- prestige paper towels is another Amway product that’s gone into the shitter. Website says No longer available. Probably priced too high is my guess like all the other shitty overpriced Amway products. And probably similar to the reviews above – the worst paper towels ever and must use more to get the job done.
3. Walmart SPF 50 Sunscreen - $9 for 16 oz bottle
If you check out Amway’s website you’ll see a bunch of Peter Island brand sunscreens that are no longer available, price unknown but I’m sure you’ll see the pattern – Amway only sells overpriced shitty products. But one thing that’s still available is a 50spf face sunscreen for – Yikes hold on to your hats!!!! – $60 for one ounce!!!! Holy fuck!!!!!! Amway = RIP OFF!!!!
4. Lets just pass over the BBQ grill and air conditioner. I don’t know if Amway sells these items and even though Walmart does I probably wouldn’t buy them there either anyway. As for the vacuum, food processor, toaster – yeah I’d buy those from Walmart but I don’t know if Amway sells these items and if they did they’d cost an arm and a leg and I wouldn’t buy them from Scamway anyway.
5. Walmart Laundry Soap - $8.97 for 100 oz.
Amway’s similar laundry product is just over 100 oz and costs over $40! But that’s typical of how Amway’s products are priced – 3 to 4 times more than what costs in the stores so there’s enough profit margin for all the assholes in the Amway upline to get a piece of the commission.
So there you have it – to get good value and a better product shop Walmart instead of Amway.
Not to mention you get your product NOW instead of waiting a week for Amway’s shit to show up on your doorstep not to mention the added cost of shipping fees. Yeah when I’m out of toilet paper NOW I am getting in my car and driving to the store to buy some not doing the Amway ambot thing and ordering online and using my hands as toilet paper for the next week.
Amway ambots are so fucking gross that way!!!!
Walmart’s slogan: Save Money Live Better
Amway’s slogan: Lose Money Live Worse
Amway prices are always out of sight for a simple reason: the existence of an up-line to be paid off for every sale. As long as what you buy has to be priced in such a way that everyone above you gets a small piece of the action, the prices charged will be MUCH higher than for any other competing product available elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteNaturally Amway tries to hide this fact, usually with bullshit about "higher quality" or "concentration" or "prestige" status. But what the hell kind of "prestige" exists in toilet paper, or paper towels, or laundry soap?
IBOs find out very quickly that they can't sell Amway products at retail to non-Amway customers. It's one thing to pay a high price for a work of art or a fine piece of jewelry. But only an idiot pays a high price for ordinary household necessities.
And that's why, when things really get tough for the poor IBO, his up-line assholes will start preaching to him about "leadership" and "helping others" and "prosuming" and "becoming a better person." In other words, they will ratchet up the bullshit to a higher and more abstract level.
What a con-job! The good thing is that fewer and fewer persons in North America are falling for it.
Anonymous - yup the only losers who think Amway products are prestige and high quality are brainwashed Ambots.
DeleteArtwork is subjective and some pieces have very high values. Same with cars and antiques and what have you.
Amway products? LOL! Everything Amway sells a consumer can find higher quality, low priced products at Walmart, Costco, Amazon, wherever. There are many purchasing options both instore and online so people can comparison shop and like you said - only an idiot would overpay for ordinary household products.
Amway losers are those idiots!
With word out on the Internet there are many places where people being prospected by the Amway cult can check out the horror show they're in for if they sign up.
Because Amway products cost so much, and cannot be sold easily, Amway freaks have to resort to the kind of psychological pressure that is common in all cults. They have to browbeat family members and friends to buy the stuff, trying to shame them into paying money just on the basis of "support" and "friendship" and "family linkage."
ReplyDeleteThis is really a pathetic way to run a so-called "business." You can't get strangers to buy the products, so you put the pressure of embarrassment on your nearest and dearest, to compel them to shell out money for crap that they don't want. How insulting and petty is that? Forcing your uncle or mom or next-door neighbor to buy overpriced garbage, just because they have a relationship with you?
When you are in Amway, you have ABSOLUTELY NO SHAME AT ALL. You have no sense of decency, no sense of what is appropriate, no sense of limit. You're just a stupid robot trying to force persons to give you money.
Anonymous - when you're inside the Amway cult it is browbeaten into you at cult meetings to buy more Amway shit. Then the fucking assholes in the Amway upline start phoning and badgering you to buy more Amway shit because some other fucking asshole in the Amway upline has PV/BV goals that need to be met. And you're ordered to buy at least 100 to 200 PV worth of shitty overpriced Amway products.
DeleteLike you said - common psychological tactics that all cults use.
Oh yeah no shame at all when you're in the Amway cult. Lying to potential customers about how good Amway's shitty products are and lying about how good business is. All in the name of scamming others to hand over their money. Bunch of con artists.
I wonder if Amway is more of a hit with old middle-class men than with women because the latter are more aware of what dishsoap and toiletpaper are supposed to cost.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous - I think women are generally more savvy grocery shoppers because they typically take on that task. We're good at remembering prices and recognizing if something is a good deal or a rip off. Men just grab the first thing on the shelf that they need without giving much thought to brand, quality and price! Generally Amway is more of a hit with younger men who are easier to brainwash and probably not so aware of the costs of cleaning products and toilet paper.
