My story of what its like to be married to an Amway cult follower. I expose the lies that our upline told and what happens at Amway meetings and functions. I leave the explanations of why Amway is a poor business opportunity or the tool scam to other bloggers. This blog mainly exists to curse out my former upline, aka the cult leaders, and to let everyone know what kind of idiots I had to put up with. Feel free to join in or live vicariously!

Amway Will Ruin Your Life
People are finding their way to the marriedtoanambot blog after searching for “Amway will ruin your life”.
I’ve seen a lot of people leave comments on the Internet and even on this blog about the financial and emotional devastation that Amway inflicted upon them. Over 99% of IBO’s who sign up to be commissioned sales agents with Amway will lose money. That’s just the way the system is designed and part of the reason that Amway is known as a scam, a pyramid scheme, and Scamway.
The minimum monthly amount of money an IBO has to spend in purchasing Amway products is about $300 to reach 100PV that magical number at which Amway will send out a commission check of about $10. But it don’t stop there. $50/month for premier membership to WWDB (World Wide Destructive Bastards) another $35 for monthly Communikate services, say at least $50/month buying useless “motivational” CDs and books, paying to go to Amway meetings, paying even more dollars to attend out of town Amway functions because then you have ticket costs plus transportation, food, hotel, etc. Call it an average of $700/month if you even out the costs of the functions over a year. That is the bare minimum if you don’t want your sack of shit Platinum ridiculing you at Amway meetings for not coughing up the cash to meet these requirements. CORE ambots or at least those who want to impress their upline will probably spend much more than $300/month on useless shitty overpriced Amway products and more on the tool scam.
How much money you lose depends on how long you stick it out in the Amway cult. Could only be a few hundred bucks to several thousand to tens of thousands of dollars in losses. Much of those losses come from savings, selling the house and using the equity to “invest” in your Amway business, or going into credit card debt or taking out bank loans.
Some people can bounce back from the financial losses. A lot depends on how much they lost and how much income they currently earn. A person in their 20’s who loses $50,000 is more likely to recover than a senior citizen who wiped out their entire savings to chase the Amway nightmare. In many cases even though an IBO may have been involved in Scamway for only a year or two it takes many years to recover financially. Some ambots take harder hits than others and have to declare bankruptcy. Other ambots lose their houses because their upline counselled with them to skip a few mortgage payments in order to afford to go to the next Scamway function and the bank foreclosed on them.
Here’s a tip. If you’re planning to skip a mortgage payment talk to your bank first. Many banks allow their customers to skip a month due to temporary financial setbacks. Other banks let their customers skip a few payments but require them to make up the payments over the next few months adding on extra amounts to the mortgage payment until they’re caught up. If you skip a mortgage payment because you need to money to fund your Amway upline’s goals and stiff the bank without first discussing it with the manager they’re not going to be very happy. Banks don’t want to foreclose. They don’t really want to deal with someone’s house. They just want their money.
Its like the Amway cult leaders. They don’t really want to deal with their downline - they just want their money.
Another way Amway ruins people’s lives is by destroying relationships. The Amway cult leaders start out by separating the ambots from anyone in their lives who are not in Amway. That takes care of a lot of friends and family. If the ambot’s wife has no interest in Amway and can’t stand the fucking Amway assholes then they work hard at convincing the ambot to leave the relationship because the Amway asshole cult leaders know that the spouse can get control of the finances and stop the flow of money to Amway. But sometimes the brainwashed ambot chooses the Amway assholes over their spouse. There’s another marriage ending in divorce thanks to Scamway.
Amway ruins many lives and people take to the Internet to share their Amway horror stories. Thats why at Amway meetings the Amway cult leaders order the ambots not to look for “negative” information on the Internet about Amway. According to Amway assholes the Internet is a bathroom wall polluted by losers and quitters.
And of course everyone finds their way to Anna Banana’s chamber of Amway horrors telling about the treatment you’ll receive from Amway assholes and this is the hell you have to look forward to if you stay in Scamway - being abused by your upline.
So one more time I send out a big old FUCK YOU to two of the biggest bastards who tried to ruin our lives - the fucking asshole that sponsored us into Amway and our sack of shit Platinum!
FUCK BOTH OF YOU AND FUCK AMWAY!

Comments are moderated but we publish just about everything. Even brainwashed ambots who show up here to accuse us of not trying hard enough and that we are lazy, quitters, negative, unchristian dreamstealers. Like we haven’t heard that Amspeak abuse from the assholes in our upline!
If your comment didn’t get published it could be one of these reasons:
1. Is it the weekend? We don’t moderate comments on weekends. Maybe not every day during the week either. Patience.
2. Racist/bigoted comments? Take that shit somewhere else.
3. Naming names? Public figures like politicians and actors and people known in Amway are probably OK – the owners, Diamonds with CDs or who speak at functions, people in Amway’s publicity department who write press releases and blogs. Its humiliating for people to admit their association with Amway so respect their privacy if they’re not out there telling everyone about the love of their life.
4. Gossip that serves no purpose. There are other places to dish about what Diamonds are having affairs or guessing why they’re getting divorced. If you absolutely must share that here – don’t name names. I get too many nosy ambots searching for this. Lets not help them find this shit.
5. Posting something creepy anonymously and we can’t track your location because you’re on a mobile device or using hide my ass or some other proxy. I attracted an obsessed fan and one of my blog administrators attracted a cyberstalker. Lets keep it safe for everyone. Anonymous is OK. Creepy anonymous and hiding – go fuck yourselves!
6. Posting something that serves no purpose other than to cause fighting.
7. Posting bullshit Amway propaganda. We might publish that comment to make fun of you. Otherwise take your agenda somewhere else. Not interested.
8. Notice how this blog is written in English? That's our language so keep your comments in English too. If you leave a comment written in another language then we either have to use Google translate to put it into English so everyone can understand what you wrote or we can hit the Delete button. Guess which one is easier for us to do?
9. We suspect you're a troublemaking Amway asshole.
10. Your comment got caught in the spam filter. There's over 1000 spam comments left here each month. We don't check them. We just delete them. If your comment landed in spam - sucks to be you!
"Other ambots lose their houses because their upline counselled with them to skip a few mortgage payments in order to afford to go to the next Scamway function and the bank foreclosed on them." That's really effed up. Mentors should NOT advise their "mentees" to do that.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous - an experienced financial advisor would not counsel with their clients to skip mortgage payments. But greedy Amway cult leaders are a different story. They want to steal as much money as they can from their followers and they're unscrupulous in how they do it. Just about every Amway meeting the cult leader either Diamond or lower would counter objections why Ambots couldn't afford to attend major functions - where Diamonds earn the bulk of their income on the Amway tool scam from the ticket sales. I've heard many times at Amway cult meetings the "financial advice" to skip the rent or mortgage to pay for tickets to Family Reunion or whatever the next Amway brainwashing conference is. Amway cult leaders don't give a flying fuck giving advice that's going to make Ambots homeless and cause them financial distress as long as they can steal money off them while there's still money to steal.
DeleteSpeaking of the homeless, one of my up-line actually tried to recruit a homeless person. I know it sounds too bizarre to be true, and its hard to recognize I didn't recognize something was wrong when I learned of this, but yes, a homeless person was recruited (unsuccessfully I might add lol).
DeleteAnonymous - Amway losers are the scum of the earth who have no morals and no conscience and prey on people who can least afford to lose money.
DeleteIf your Amway up-line is trying to recruit homeless persons, it's clear that your up-line is truly desperate.
DeleteHomeless persons are pretty much broke, except for pocket change. How in hell are they supposed to pay the endless Amway fees? And will CommuniKate be connected to their cardboard box?
Well Anonymous- Ambots are pretty much broke too!
DeleteIf they're not broke yet then Ambots are more immoral when it comes to their mind doing scams it for years and same those who help them whether they're in Amway or not. Plus anything similar to Amway when comes to cults.
DeleteYou said it Anonymous!
DeletePeople with insecure attitudes playing tough to harass are usually jealous of something you have that they don't in the past and is a lie that they should be ashamed of. They'll try to kill what is unique about you. I say don't let them since you have what is earned merit than their delusions. You have a memory that is real and they can't even copy or cannot be stolen when it comes to other people knowing you did what you've gone through. Them coming to this page will do a them in. Keep it up!
DeleteHey Anonymous - you know the assholes in our Amway upline always said we were in Amway so we can "bless others". Obviously the reason I was there so I could "bless others" by keeping a blog running and warning these blessed others to stay the hell away from Amway! Unless you're a moron who wants to lose their money, their friends and their brain cells. If so, then there's no stopping a determined Ambot who wants to sign up to Amway the Cult of Greed.
DeleteI heard cults from last year has been hitting really hard by people who expose them for what they really are. Well I think staff attorneys has report them to the law courts to do things out especially on scammers.
DeleteAnonymous- people have been sharing their experiences with cults and pyramid schemes for decades. Thanks to the Internet and search engines there’s a larger audience.
DeleteDear Anna --
ReplyDeleteThe fact that people are searching on the internet for "Amway will ruin your life" is very telling. It means that lots of persons have finally realized that the entire Amway operation is a vicious scam run by conscienceless scum.
Telling your down-line to skip mortgage payments is criminal. It's like telling people not to pay their taxes, or their rent, or their grocery bills. And for what? To attend one of those absolutely useless and stupid "functions," where you can hear some pompous asshole Diamond brag about his house, or listen to jackshit music by the Goads, or drop cash into the collection plate for an evangelical preacher from "The Amway Christian Fellowship"?
You're going to risk losing your house for THIS?
If someone is that stupid, I guess he belongs in Amway.
Anonymous - I think Amway has ruined so many lives that people search online to find support groups. This blog works. People can curse out the Amway assholes that brought them financial and emotional distress.
DeleteThe IRS has determined that Amway functions are just social gatherings and that's why Ambots can't use them for deductions unless they're able to prove that attending was instrumental in increasing their business profits. LOL! Never happens! LOL!
As you said Amway brainwashing conferences are stupid and useless and they're all the same where you listen to fucking Amway Diamonds brag about their riches.
Well maybe to some Amway losers its worth losing their house for.
Greetings Anna. I just wanted to say hello and thanks again for having this blog. It is so hard seeing people you love getting reprogrammed by a cult. I'm watching it happen now and I fear for my friends, but am coming to realize there really isn't anything I can do to help. Unless they are that extremely rare type that somehow gets successful (and the odds are basically zero), they just stand to lose so much on Amway if they keep going gung-ho. And they will because it's all about the dream now. Maybe one good thing has come of it; I'm doing research into how real business and investing works and maybe when they finally get out I'll be able to offer them real information to help them recover. In the meantime I will keep reading your blog and others like it and pray they don't lose the marriage and house over this crap. I know going through Amway is much harder than just watching somebody go through it, but it's still worrisome and painful to see. It hurts to have to worry so much about those you care about.
ReplyDeleteHi Sotn. Thanks for loving the blog! It's people who keep blogs running and people like you who leave comments that are putting a real dent into Amway's bottom line. Amway and their scammer army of Ambots hate it when we get the truth out there about how the Amway Cult of Greed destroys families, friendships, and finances.
DeleteThe odds of making money in Amway are pretty near zero, no matter how good a liar or scammer the Ambot is. Like most pyramid schemes, the only people who make money are those at the top who got in early enough and probably started up their own cult sect within Amway.
There's not much you can do but let your friends hit rock bottom. When Amway has wiped out their savings and maxed out their credit cards and the assholes in the Amway upline are riding their asses to buy more overpriced Amway shit that month or buy tickets to the next Amway brainwashing conference and they can't swing it cause the finances are depleted then they have no choice but to quit. Hopefully they are young enough to bounce back from the damage Amway caused.
And some of these people who can no longer financially afford to be in the Amway cult still think it's a good idea and refuse to admit they were brainwashed. That's how good the Amway cult leaders are at brainwashing their flock. It is very scary the hold they have on Ambots.
You can be pretty sure that the fucking assholes in your friends Amway upline are already counselling them to get a divorce if they have an unsupportive negative unchristian wife (that sums up all of us women according to Amway cult leaders!) and will counsel with them to sell their house, find a cheaper place to rent and use the proceeds from the sale to pay off the credit cards that were used to buy Amway shit and start all over again.
There is nothing that brings those Amway bastards more happiness than destroying other people's lives.
Anyway, yes you keep researching how to start up a real business. You're seeing all the steps such as creating a business plan and making sure you have a viable business with the potential to be profitable. You apply for a business name, a business license, get a business bank account, take out a small business loan, source out vendors and a shop if needed, get a lawyer and accountant in place and figure out if you need to hire staff. Some businesses are one man/one woman show or at least start out like that but if your business volume increases you need to hire staff. Contribute to the local economy.
Real business owners do all these steps and so much more. Amway losers who live in the land of make belief with their pretend businesses don't do the things real business owners do.
getting the truth out on this blog means you're a hero by saving a lot of people the trouble of being scammed in Amway. Those that stayed knowing they enjoy scamming are the ones with the problem. Too bad for them for losing their money.
DeleteThanks Anonymous. If I can prevent others from going through the emotional and financial distress caused by Amway and the fucking assholes in the Amway upline then this blog is worth it!
DeleteGreetings Anna. Thanks for the blog, as always. I guess we're all doing a little bit to chip away at Scamcult, which is a good thing.
ReplyDeleteMy friends invited me to one of those coffee sessions before I started doing research on Amway. I went because they are lifelong friends and I was intrigued as to what they were doing. Typical meeting as talked about on this blog by so many people. Dream dream dream, blah blah blah, read this book, etc. Although I knew in my gut this'opportunity' was wrong, I can see how people can get sucked in by the language. Good thing for me I was visiting from out of town and not living there, because when I left I was able to get away and have time to think before being dragged into another meeting. During that time I realized the core of this was sales, something I don't wish to do. So I told my friend when asked about if I were still interested in the 'business', I said no. He's let it drop and doesn't hound me but it was after saying no I started real research and realized how wrong I was.
The core of Amway isn't sales, it's scams. And upon seeing the cult aspect of it, that's when I became worried for my friends and heard brainwash speech from them.
They aren't Christian, so I hope that will be a bullwark against part of the brainwashing, but when it's all about dreaming yourself broke, I just hope for the best for them.
Hi Sotn. You've been reading other experiences of their Amway stories so you know its all Ambots follow a canned Amspeak script. Meet for coffee. Draw circles. Say you find 2 people and they find 2 people and they find 2 people and you'll be making $1000/week. But if you find 6 people and they find 6 people and they find 6 people you'll make $10,000/week. Amway is all about confusing the prospects with a bunch of fast talk and numbers of how much money you'll make "if". Yeah when pigs fly!
DeleteIt looks good on paper but the reality of finding 1 person to scam, let alone 2 or 6 is pretty much impossible. And even if you did manage to find a couple of people to scam you got to keep the motivated to keep buying overpriced shitty Amway products for life. When most people realize they got scammed they don't keep throwing money at it.
It's common sense. You go to the store and buy something and realize you got ripped off you're not going to buy it again.
All cults twist religion to suit their purposes. The Amway cult also twists religion to suit their purposes. WWDB has several functions over the year that take place on weekends. On Sunday morning one of the Amway cult leaders preaches a sermon and then passes a hat for the Ambots to donate even more money. Yeah the Diamond wants to go out for a steak and lobster dinner that night.
Greetings Anna. They do Sunday morning sermons and collect money?!?! What the hell? I'm a little speechless. So, onto a different topic.
ReplyDeleteWhile it is May and far too early for Christmas, my bored brain started coming up with new lyrics to Christmas songs. Example:
To the tune of Frosty the snowman:
Ambot the ScamMan,
Has a very Frosty soul.
He'll hypnotize,
And tell you lies,
That leave you with no dough.
Not a perfect rhyme and I'm not sure that's the spelling of dough when you mean cash, but I know you get what I'm getting at there. Wouldn't it be great if we could get all the former Ambots together in front of some sack of shit Platinum's house at Christmas and regale them with scamway themed Christmas carols? Be quite a sight wouldn't it? Then eggnog the house. My bored brain is off to work on Silent Night. Scamway Night maybe?
Anyway, as always, thanks for the blog Anna!
Oh, final thought. I've been reading back over the blog, going back years. The sheer amount of people who have such dreadful stories to report is heartbreaking. Just, just fuck Amway! Fuck them!
Hi sotn. Yes Scamway does Sunday morning twisted religious services on their weekend brainwashing functions. Went once. Was as fucking creepy as any Amway meeting. More so cause the Amway cult leader invited everyone who wants to find Christ to walk down to the floor in front of him. Christ I only wanted to find an exit door to get the fuck out of there!
DeleteOh yeah thanks for the Christmas song! Try getting that out of your head today! If you come up with more let us know. We’ll get it in the December round up!
Yup there’s a lot of heartbreaking stories from people who got scammed by Amway. And sadly there will me more.
