Maybe its the language barrier?
So I checked dictionary.com for a definition of scam:
a confidence game or other fraudulent scheme, especially for making a quick profit; swindle
For those of you who don’t know a confidence game is how “con” or “con man” came into being, just a shortened version of confidence game. If you are running a confidence game you are befriending someone and gaining their confidence so that you can swindle them out of their money or other belongings.
Just like what happened to us - or more specifically my Ambot! - when we were in Amway.
So I thought I would break it down for my ignorant Indian visitor on who is really running a scam here.

To recap I do not charge anyone a fee either annually or per visit to read this blog. I do not sell any products to visitors. Who knows what the future holds? Ha ha. Really I got nothing to sell. I do not ask any readers to send me money or material possessions. Oh. If anyone has any leftover Halloween or Christmas candies they want to get rid of I’d be happy to take them off your hands! Ha ha!
The thing about Anna Banana is that I do not try to swindle money or other items off any of my readers. I am not collecting anything other than information about what really goes on when a person is involved in the Amway cult. I am not lying about how much money can be made in Amway. How can I be running a scam if I don’t receive some kind of financial benefit? What’s in it for me?
I’m afraid I have fallen victim to a brainwashed ambot who doesn’t know they’re being scammed. In their anger and confusion this anonymous poster from India is twisting the truth for their own benefit and accusing me of running a scam.
It’s how Amway Ambots use the PeeWee Herman handbook as their bible “I know you are but what am I”.
People can come here and read Married to an Ambot blog for free. They are not being fucked over and ordered to hand over some cash before reading the next post.
Very odd. Perhaps Anonymous from Bangalore, Karnataka, India can come back and clarify how much money I’m earning from this scam of a blog because so far I ain’t seen a penny!
MarriedtoanAmbot gives away free information and advice.
That jerk from India seems unaware that in his own country Amway has gotten into severe legal trouble because of its lies and scams. Doesn't he read the papers in Bangalore?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous - apparently not. Information control within the Amway cult.
DeleteThe Amway product line is like those chocolate bars that your friends sell to raise money for their kids' school or some other nonprofit. Of course Amway is a nonprofit too but that's another story. The similarity is that people will buy a few of them because the seller is a friend or it's a good idea to buy some because the person peddling them is someone important (like your boss) or maybe people will just spend a few bucks to get the seller to shut up and go away. But almost nobody buys and consumes large amounts of either those chocolate bars or Amway except for the Amway "distributors" themselves who mostly distribute boxes of accumulated Amway stuff throughout their closets, garage and any other storage space. The difference of course is that in moderation those chocolate bars are actually really good.
ReplyDeleteRay - I can't tell you how many times we get hit up for chocolate bars, cookies, and Krispy Kreme donuts for various fundraisers. As you pointed out, it costs a few bucks, probably no more than $10 and you're not getting hit up constantly with the type of persistence of an Amway Ambot. Most of those fundraiser chocolate bars taste way better than those shitty Amway food bars. Cost way less too!
