Sponsoring Amway Downline

It’s nearly impossible to sponsor anyone to become an Amway IBO - Independent Business Owner. First of all almost everyone in North America over the age of 30 has heard of Amway either from previously being an IBO, being pestered to become an IBO, or know people who are/were IBO’s. Very few people are interested. Amway products are similar to products that can be purchased much cheaper at local grocery or drug stores. Hardly anyone knows anyone who’s actually made money with Amway.

Though many IBO’s will lie and pretend business is good, it really isn’t. Its just part of the Amway lies they are trained by their upline to tell.

Upline says its simple. You buy and use the Amway products and you find people who will duplicate you and do the same. Depending on how many people you can find you have the potential to make hundreds or thousands of dollars each month.

The reality is most IBO’s don’t find anyone so they try singlehandedly to purchase Amway products for their own consumption to try to get their PV (points volume that each Amway product is assigned) as high as they can in order to earn a bonus check. An approximate value is for every $300 in Amway products purchased, the IBO will receive a $10 bonus check. If you have people in your downline active purchasing Amway products then you can potentially earn a higher bonus check.

IBO’s lose money right away. They probably bought $300 worth of products that they wouldn’t normally buy if they went to a local store to shop such as food bars and power drinks. Add to that amount the tools they have to buy - books, CD’s, membership into their cult line of sponship, message system, web page, function, seminars, etc - which can cost hundreds of dollars each month, and most IBO’s run a huge monthly loss. Most people don’t remain IBO’s too long. When their money runs out, so do they.

Others unfortunately are pressured by their upline to put charges on their credit cards, take out home equity loans, sell cars, do whatever is necessary to buy, buy, buy.

Amway’s own literature shows that less than 1% of IBO’s actually earn money. What kind of success rate is that? Pretty shitty.

Its nearly next to impossible for the average IBO to sponsor any downline. If they do, its very hard to keep them motivated after months of losses to keep buying Amway products. Most IBO’s quit within the year.

  1. I posted a comment a long time ago, but I still come back to read your blog posts.

Anyways, my sister is still in Amway and still hasn't made it to Diamond status like she talked about 13 years ago. Although I do like their vitamins, energy drinks and skincare, I stopped buying them. The main reason why I drank their energy drinks was because I liked their flavors.

Eventually I found other products to replace the vitamins, energy drink and skincare, because I didn't want to support their business anymore. The energy drink was the first to go because of the price point. The cost was too high and I couldn't have my parents shell out all that money for beverages like that.

The vitamins were the next thing to go for the same reason and it didn't fit my dietary needs. I'm a vegetarian by choice, and knowing that I know I have to supplement my diet, and the supplements I need contains gelatin and/or fish in them.

The last thing I switched was the skincare (and still am to this day). I don't like their skincare, because they test on animals. Cruelty-free cosmetics is important to me, because I don't think it's necessary to hurt animals for cosmetics. Vegan/vegetarian is always a plus, which the skincare I tend to get are, are mostly vegan/vegetarian. But not always.

However, all of the products that I get (skincare, energy drink, vitamins), they try to listen to their consumers. I'm not so sure about Amway. Their IBOs blindly defend them.

    1. Hi Anonymous. Thanks for stopping back. And it's too bad about your sister. That's a lot of years not to mention money to waste on a pipe dream. A woman is never going to reach Diamond. The Amway cult leaders will give her lip service and encouragement but these male chauvinist pigs will never let her reach that level. That's just the way it goes in a good old boy's club.

Oh so you're the person out there besides an Ambot that actually likes Amway energy drinks LOL! The big reason Amway products are so expensive is because they have to jack the price up because many Ambots all receive a little commission whenever the lowly Ambot at the bottom of the pyramid makes a sale.

Legitimate food and vitamin manufacturers sell their products at wholesale prices to retailers. There is probably a price break based on volume. You can be pretty sure that Coca Cola sells their drinks at a lower price to Walmart than 7-11 for example.

And yes with dietary restrictions you have to check the ingredient list and reject based on what's in there. According to Ambots all Amway products are organic and they don't use fillers LOL! They'll also lie and tell you the products are vegan just so they can make a buck on a sale. Ambots have no morals that way.

I'm sure some Amway loser will show up screeching that you're a liar and Artistry doesn't test their cosmetics on animals. That's just all part of how Ambots blindly defend Amway.

An Ambot will never have a tougher job in their life than working for Amway. The life of an Ambot is to lie, deny, defend and distract.

    2. There were a few flavors I liked, but their energy drinks weren't worth the price. I drank them, because I was deficient in b12 and it helped me for sometime. But I found another replacement for my b12 needs at a cheaper price. And it tasted just as good.

I wasn't going to continue asking my parents to spend their hard earned money on a drink that wasn't of quality.

My sister does have a family (husband), but the like most people.my family doesn't like it. My family has criticized the quality of their products on multiple occasions, hence my switching the Amway products to something else. It's sad to see. I'm hoping she'll see the light.

    3. Well there you go Anonymous. It isn't hard to find a similar product that tastes better at a better price somewhere else!

I'm guessing after 13 years your sister is not going to see the light. She's an Amway lifer. It's going to take a divorce and filing for bankruptcy and foreclosure before she sees the light.

Comments are moderated but we publish just about everything. Even brainwashed ambots who show up here to accuse us of not trying hard enough and that we are lazy, quitters, negative, unchristian dreamstealers. Like we haven’t heard that Amspeak abuse from the assholes in our upline!

If your comment didn’t get published it could be one of these reasons:
1. Is it the weekend? We don’t moderate comments on weekends. Maybe not every day during the week either. Patience.
2. Racist/bigoted comments? Take that shit somewhere else.
3. Naming names? Public figures like politicians and actors and people known in Amway are probably OK – the owners, Diamonds with CDs or who speak at functions, people in Amway’s publicity department who write press releases and blogs. Its humiliating for people to admit their association with Amway so respect their privacy if they’re not out there telling everyone about the love of their life.
4. Gossip that serves no purpose. There are other places to dish about what Diamonds are having affairs or guessing why they’re getting divorced. If you absolutely must share that here – don’t name names. I get too many nosy ambots searching for this. Lets not help them find this shit.
5. Posting something creepy anonymously and we can’t track your location because you’re on a mobile device or using hide my ass or some other proxy. I attracted an obsessed fan and one of my blog administrators attracted a cyberstalker. Lets keep it safe for everyone. Anonymous is OK. Creepy anonymous and hiding – go fuck yourselves!
6. Posting something that serves no purpose other than to cause fighting.
7. Posting bullshit Amway propaganda. We might publish that comment to make fun of you. Otherwise take your agenda somewhere else. Not interested.
8. Notice how this blog is written in English? That's our language so keep your comments in English too. If you leave a comment written in another language then we either have to use Google translate to put it into English so everyone can understand what you wrote or we can hit the Delete button. Guess which one is easier for us to do?
9. We suspect you're a troublemaking Amway asshole.
10. Your comment got caught in the spam filter. There's over 1000 spam comments left here each month. We don't check them. We just delete them. If your comment landed in spam - sucks to be you!
