Amway Functions Are A Shit Show

One of our readers shares a story but I’m sure he got the Amway brainwashing conferences titles mixed up. FED happens in October unless the WWDB organizer fucks up and can’t book an arena in time then it’s in November. Amway Dream Night is held in January. For those of us who hate going to Amway bullshit cult functions we’re lucky that this is the shortest event only wasting our time for a few hours. This Ambot got stuck doing a day long Amway shit show.

For those meetings - I had attended one (FED) in Jan 2019 where we had breakfast at 8 at the Platinum's down line place, stuck the whole day in that giant hall (And Yes I was lazy enough not to go all the way down, cross the hall, & go up to get out of there. That happens when you travel for more than 6 hours, get few hours to sleep & get ready to reach at the venue early! For what? Just to DANCE before the function starts? I could have done that at home.), and finally got to have something to fill our stomach after 7 as they didn't allow to bring anything inside the hall.

All new Diamonds on the stage & people were crazy. I mean, one of the lady was so comical that I couldn't even digest what she was talking about. People were laughing on the jokes, which I had already heard in the audios, like they heard them for the first time!!!!!

I was feeling more down than FIRED UP - one thought in my mind - I came all the way to this city for this shit.

After that, I ceased attending any of those weekly, monthly, etcetera seminars/meetings. They were preaching the same thing & I didn't want to pay for that. My up line & sponsor were telling me to attend them as only those meetings would uplift my belief. Instead of belief I was seeing my pocket getting emptied.

Other thing - After every meeting, product training, and online PASE through zoom video call, they always told to share the excitement in the WhatsApp group (One group for All IBO's). I was like why I needed to share every thing there. It was more like "Mark your attendance" everyday.

  1. Some people just love freak-scene parties and fiestas.

The trouble with these Amway functions is that they are all orchestrated well in advance, and there is no actual freedom or spontaneity in them. It's like a rally in a Communist country, where everybody in the crowd cheers in unison.

I think many Ambots go to these functions in order not to feel isolated, and to get a sense of "solidarity" with others. If you are weak-willed and defensive and uncertain, the functions help to cover it all up with a lot of screaming and shouting.

    1. Anonymous - that's probably right. If you're looking at this kind of hysteria you can go to a Superbowl party. For free. Unless you're the guy buying the beer.

Amway functions are just creepy. If the motherfuckers in the Amway upline are screaming and cheering you're supposed to do the same. Duplicate upline. Do what upline is doing. Even though they're making themselves look like a bunch of fucking lunatics.

    2. It's all about lessening the cognitive dissonance. Reality doesn't match up with what Ambots claim about it. People who join these cults need a lot of certainty in their lives, black-and-white thinking, firm and fixed procedures to deal with all of their tough situations, and easy to identify enemies and tribemates. That's why the downline find those instructions "do what the upline does" so comforting and easy. Even when they don't work for years on end, the Ambots follow them--because not following them leads to chaos and madness, and they'd rather be broke than uncertain and lacking instructions.

Giving Ambots a lot of rah-rah helps them avoid thinking too much about reality and where it differs with their indoctrination. Plus it lines the pockets of the Diamonds, always a good thing in their eyes!

Amway works pretty much like right-wing Christianity does, in the same ways, and for the same reasons. The leaders are just as bad in both groups, the ideology just as fake and false, and the cruelties imposed by the two groups just as cutting and control-focused. That's how I stayed out of it: I had just gotten out of a cult just like Amway when an Ambot tried to recruit me. I was almost swept along with it until I realized how similar the talking points, recruitment tactics, and ideologies were. Then you couldn't have paid me a million dollars to join. I knew them, I had their number, and groups like that had lost me forever.

Your husband should be thanking whatever deities he prefers (or his good luck if he believes in none--that's fine by me obviously) that you were patient with him! It's a testament to your strength that you could stick through not one but two of these periods of madness! Amway is a cult. Everything its leaders do is oriented around getting their perverse desires met and keeping their marks on the line.

    3. I agree completely with all that Cas said. Seems to be a growing problem in the world these days, the lessening of critical thinking skills, encouraged by various religious/business/political groups. Everything is black OR white, this OR that. No room for compromise or reasoned debate. All facts/evidence presented by the other side is "fake". Just tribalism is left. You are either WITH us or AGAINST us. Friend OR enemy. Because no thinking skills are required. Just follow the direction of whatever cult leader they happen to follow. Superstitiously believing that allowing in one single "negative" thought or doubt will break the spell and cause financial or spiritual ruin. Kind of like thinking "if I don't believe with all my heart and soul that Santa is going to come down the chimney, then he won't". Then when he doesn't you hear "well, you must not have believed hard enough, otherwise he would have been there."

The political, business and religious models do all seem to be the same. Someone at the top, whether it be an Amway upline or a televangelist like Kenneth Copeland or Creflo Dollar, drawing in people like sheep with promises of the same riches they have as long as they do what they are told. In all cases, doing so lining the pockets of those at the top. The followers unable to distinguish that it's THEIR money making those at the top so rich, so they aren't going to get the same riches by filling their garages with Amway shit, or sending in their "seed of faith" to the holy rollers. Thus the need for brainwashing them with a constant, non-ending barrage of meetings, books, CD's, seminars. Keeping the message all black or white. Do everything we tell you and you are a "winner". Deviate even slightly and you are a "loser".

Their followers say "How can Amway not be a path to success when it is a multi-billion dollar company?". Or "Kenneth Copeland has huge mansions and a jet. He obviously can lead me to prosperity through his gospel teachings." Of course, in both cases it's the money drained from the bank accounts of the followers that fuel those riches at that top. "Trickle down" is a handy answer to those at the top to convince those at the bottom to "give me your money and it'll shower back upon you like golden rain". But ends up in offshore accounts instead.

I've known friends and relatives who have gotten caught up in both religious/bible cults and MLM's, and can say the similarities of mind-control, personality changes, loss of reason and thought between the two are many. Because the tactics used for both are basically the same. And in both cases it is heartbreaking to see those we care about get sucked in and their minds twisted to no longer listen to anyone except those milking them.

    4. Thanks Cas and Dave. You've both come up with great points. Amway cult leaders twist religion and come up with lies to scam their followers about how much money they'll make in ScAmway. And they get all these brainwashed suckers who believe them.

Just by showing up to an Amway meeting, the cult leader labels the Ambot a "winner". That's one of the reasons those bastards get so outraged when around here we laugh at them, curse them out and call them losers. Ambots get so outraged when people share their real life stories of their time inside the Amway cult.

Yeah you guys really covered it. Not too much else can be added! Thanks!

    1. LOL Anonymous. Around here we appreciate Amway humor. LOL! Amway Ambots are outraged by it but you'd think those losers would be used to everyone laughing at them by now!

Comments are moderated but we publish just about everything. Even brainwashed ambots who show up here to accuse us of not trying hard enough and that we are lazy, quitters, negative, unchristian dreamstealers. Like we haven’t heard that Amspeak abuse from the assholes in our upline!

If your comment didn’t get published it could be one of these reasons:
1. Is it the weekend? We don’t moderate comments on weekends. Maybe not every day during the week either. Patience.
2. Racist/bigoted comments? Take that shit somewhere else.
3. Naming names? Public figures like politicians and actors and people known in Amway are probably OK – the owners, Diamonds with CDs or who speak at functions, people in Amway’s publicity department who write press releases and blogs. Its humiliating for people to admit their association with Amway so respect their privacy if they’re not out there telling everyone about the love of their life.
4. Gossip that serves no purpose. There are other places to dish about what Diamonds are having affairs or guessing why they’re getting divorced. If you absolutely must share that here – don’t name names. I get too many nosy ambots searching for this. Lets not help them find this shit.
5. Posting something creepy anonymously and we can’t track your location because you’re on a mobile device or using hide my ass or some other proxy. I attracted an obsessed fan and one of my blog administrators attracted a cyberstalker. Lets keep it safe for everyone. Anonymous is OK. Creepy anonymous and hiding – go fuck yourselves!
6. Posting something that serves no purpose other than to cause fighting.
7. Posting bullshit Amway propaganda. We might publish that comment to make fun of you. Otherwise take your agenda somewhere else. Not interested.
8. Notice how this blog is written in English? That's our language so keep your comments in English too. If you leave a comment written in another language then we either have to use Google translate to put it into English so everyone can understand what you wrote or we can hit the Delete button. Guess which one is easier for us to do?
9. We suspect you're a troublemaking Amway asshole.
10. Your comment got caught in the spam filter. There's over 1000 spam comments left here each month. We don't check them. We just delete them. If your comment landed in spam - sucks to be you!
