More Proof that Amway is a Pyramid

I found an article written by a lawyer that asks the question - Is this a pyramid or a legitimate MLM? http://www.mlmlegal.com/pyramid.html

Here’s the checklist:

1.  Product and Price
2.  No Investment Required
3.  Purchase and Inventory Requirements
4.  Sales Commissions Sources
5.  Buy-Back Policy
6.  Retail Sales
7.  Active Role for Distributors
8.  Earnings Misrepresentations
9.  Good Training

The first point about product and price, the first two sentences. Does the company offer a high quality product for which there is a strong demand in the real world marketplace? Is the product fairly priced and priced competitively with similar products?

A brainwashed ambot will chant about how Amway offers high quality products and they’re fairly priced due to their high quality. Fuck I’ve heard that over and over so many times it makes me want to puke! To the first question I say NO. Amway products are not high quality. For the most part they are generic or substandard to similar products easily available in the marketplace. Amway comes with a premium price tag for its low quality products so that answers the second question about whether or not its fairly priced.

Is there any point in picking about the rest of the list? Click on the link and read the descriptions and clearly Amway fails on the other 8 points too. Maybe IBO’s can’t see it when they’re in Amway and brainwashed to believe everything they read on the Internet is a lie but someone looking at this checklist with a clear mind sees Amway getting a failing grade.

Pyramid scheme!!!!!

On the flip side a brainwashed ambot will look at every single point and also says it applies to Amway. Good prices for good products, good training, earnings are not misrepresented, they’ll brag about a return policy when they’ve probably never tried to return anything themselves and had to deal with Amway's I-don't-give-a-fuck customer service desk.

Those brainwashed ambots will justify every one of those points is further proof that Amway is a legitimate MLM business.

No!

Its a pyramid scheme!!!!  The proof is in the pudding. Just don’t eat Amway’s shitty pudding!

I would caution you and your readers not to venture any further into this particularly twisted area of the 'MLM' labyrinth without a reliable guide.

Unfortunately, the slimey shyster who wrote this very precisely-worded, but ultimately inaccurate,'MLM check list,'pretends to be a reliable guide. In reality, he was paid by 'MLM' racketeers to help them to hide the truth.

You, and your readers, know from your own bitter experience that 'Amway' does not pass this so-called 'MLM check list.' However, when challenged, 'Amway's' lawyers have pointed to the fact that the company offers products. They also have pointed to the company's own 'rules' which appear to oblige 'Amway' agents to retail these products to the public. The lawyers also point to the company's so-called 'code of ethics' which appears to oblige 'Amway' agents to tell the truth. In this way, 'Amway's' lawyers have steadfastly pretended that 'Amway' passes the so-called 'MLM check-list'with flying-colours.

Sadly, 'Amway's' lawyers have fooled all sorts of well-educated adults (including government regulators, journalists, politicians, judges, etc.) with these puerile lies.

In the adult world of quantifiable reality,'Amway's' convenient 'rules' and 'code of ethics' might as well not exist, because, as you know from bitter experience, they were never meant to be, and have never been, enforced. Indeed, as you know from bitter experience, 'Amway' adherents have always been taught not to retail products to the public and to hide the truth about their mounting-losses.

The founder of Pyramid Scheme Alert, Robert FitzPatrick, has been studying the available data on 'MLM' companies for decades. Robert has yet to find one which has been operating lawfully.

Had the slimey shyster who wrote this so-called 'MLM check-list' been honest, then he would have stated that the fundamental criteria which determines whether any commission-related marketing scheme has been economically-viable and, therefore, lawful, is whether a significant percentage of its participants have been able to earn net-profits from regularly retailing goods, and/or services, to the public.

Any so-called 'MLM'scheme without a significant and sustainable source of external revenue, is a dissimulated pyramid scam based on the specious economic theory that endless-chain recruitment + endless payments by the recruits = endless profits for the recruits.

Thus number one on the 'MLM' check list should be:

AVAILABILITY OF PARTICIPANTS 'MLM'-RELATED INCOME TAX RECEIPTS.

Obviously, no insolvent 'MLM'robot has ever seen the income tax-receipts of their insolvent 'Upline'; for 'MLM' has been an enormous, self-perpetuating lie.

  2. David - that was the interesting thing about this list. Depending on which side of the fence you're sitting on arguments for Amway could be made either way for pyramid or legitimate MLM.

I'm on the pyramid scheme side of that fence!

You are right, and I know that you have a clear view of what has really been happening inside 'Amway,' but I still would like to make it even clearer to your readers that no valid argument can be made that so-called 'MLM'(as it has actually been operated for the previous 50+ years) has been an authentic means of earning net-income, because no quantifiable evidence has ever been produced to support the pernicious 'MLM income opportunity' fairytale.

Furthermore, I would say that the sophistic arguments put forward by the paid apologists of 'MLM' racketeers are themselves part of a pattern of ongoing, major, racketeering activity, because they have ignored quantifiable reality and have been designed to prevent, and divert, investigation of other elements of the same pattern of ongoing, major, racketeering activity.

My point is, that everyone (including law enforcement agents) keeps talking about 'legitimate' or 'lawful MLMs' as though they must exist, but no one ever produces quantifiable evidence (in the form of audited accounts, particularly income tax receipts) which proves that such a thing as a 'legitimate,' or 'lawful,' MLM has actually existed.

Now, that should lead any honest observer with fully-functioning critical, and evaluative, faculties to conclude that so-called 'MLM' has been a giant lie. However, people like Robert FitzPatrick, who have been sued by the 'MLM' racketeers, have generally refrained from making definitive statements about 'MLM' being fundamentally unlawful.

For obvious reasons, Robert FitzPatrick has felt obliged to hold out the possibility that one day he will find an 'MLM' scheme that is not a dissimulated scam. I, on the other hand, take an entirely different approach. For a long time, I have openly-challenged any gang of 'MLM' racketeers to produce the evidence that a significant percentage of their constantly- churning flocks of adherents has earned net-profits from regularly retailing goods, and or services, to the public.

So far, no one has taken up my challenge. However, unless such evidence can be produced, all other sophistic arguments are revealed as being part of pattern of ongoing, major, racketeering activity, and they could have been easily recognized as such by law enforcement agents many years ago, had common-sense been applied.

  4. David - most of my readers have already been scammed by Amway and have strong feelings about it. I don't get too many current IBO's here. I think they are worried that the possibility exists that the horrible upline I'm discussing might be them! Current IBO's would never believe anything that I or anyone else says. If it doesn't come out of the mouths of their cult leaders then it's not the truth.

MLM only became something I detest thanks to Amway otherwise I wouldn't have given it much thought.

Comments are moderated but we publish just about everything. Even brainwashed ambots who show up here to accuse us of not trying hard enough and that we are lazy, quitters, negative, unchristian dreamstealers. Like we haven’t heard that Amspeak abuse from the assholes in our upline!

If your comment didn’t get published it could be one of these reasons:
1. Is it the weekend? We don’t moderate comments on weekends. Maybe not every day during the week either. Patience.
2. Racist/bigoted comments? Take that shit somewhere else.
3. Naming names? Public figures like politicians and actors and people known in Amway are probably OK – the owners, Diamonds with CDs or who speak at functions, people in Amway’s publicity department who write press releases and blogs. Its humiliating for people to admit their association with Amway so respect their privacy if they’re not out there telling everyone about the love of their life.
4. Gossip that serves no purpose. There are other places to dish about what Diamonds are having affairs or guessing why they’re getting divorced. If you absolutely must share that here – don’t name names. I get too many nosy ambots searching for this. Lets not help them find this shit.
5. Posting something creepy anonymously and we can’t track your location because you’re on a mobile device or using hide my ass or some other proxy. I attracted an obsessed fan and one of my blog administrators attracted a cyberstalker. Lets keep it safe for everyone. Anonymous is OK. Creepy anonymous and hiding – go fuck yourselves!
6. Posting something that serves no purpose other than to cause fighting.
7. Posting bullshit Amway propaganda. We might publish that comment to make fun of you. Otherwise take your agenda somewhere else. Not interested.
8. Notice how this blog is written in English? That's our language so keep your comments in English too. If you leave a comment written in another language then we either have to use Google translate to put it into English so everyone can understand what you wrote or we can hit the Delete button. Guess which one is easier for us to do?
9. We suspect you're a troublemaking Amway asshole.
10. Your comment got caught in the spam filter. Gets checked occasionally. We’ll get to you eventually and approve it as long as it really isn’t spam.
