Night of Hell - an Amway Cult Meeting

Here’s what a night of hell was for me when we were in the Amway cult.

Our organization was WWDB - World Wide Destructive Bastards. Our upline held meetings up to 3 times a week to tell lies about the Amway business and work on destroying marriages and families. Our cult leader started the Amway meetings around 8pm either at his house or at another IBO's house usually someone in our direct line though occasionally crossline.

Even though the cult meetings started at 8pm the Platinum told everyone that “serious business builders” always arrived at least an hour early, therefore my ambot had us arriving closer to 7pm. And how the hell would the Platinum know which cult followers showed up at 7 anyway because he wasn’t there? That would be because he has little ambot spies. Not always the person who lived at the residence where the meeting was held. You never knew who the spy was. Usually the Platinum’s henchman is the spy but not always if he wasn’t there. Sometimes the cult leader had him running other errands. So I’d say the spy was usually the fucking asshole who sponsored our sponsor - little slimy cocksucking son of a bitch that he is.

Prior to the main cult meeting, the Platinum usually held private meetings with ambots at a coffee shop where he goes over their budget, their phone list, or just generally ride their asses about how they could be doing better in “the business”. If the man was married the Platinum would convince them the reason they aren’t going anywhere in the Amway business is because of their wife and tell them the only way to succeed in Amway is if they leave their wife.

At the coffee shop counselling sessions the sack of shit Platinum expected one of the cult followers to purchase something for him to eat and drink and then drive him to the Amway meeting. However if they arrived at the house and no one of at least 1000 pin level was standing on the street to greet him, the driver had to circle the block a few times until someone who appreciated him showed up on the street. Need to show the cult leader a little more love!

So 8ish start. There are usually 10 to 15 IBOs at each meeting always the same people hearing the same bullshit they heard the night before at the last Amway cult meeting. Occasionally an ambot has hijacked a prospect to attend. The Platinum spends an hour talking about himself and his life - pompous sack of shit loves the sound of his own voice.

After an hour of bullshit the cult leader might say what he does for a business - ecommerce, runs an online business - but mostly a bunch of double talk for a good 15 minutes to half an hour because he gets distracted and goes off in a tangent. After the double talk he finally mentions the dreaded “A” word. Its like a swear word that can’t be said too often in front of this pack of goody 2 shoes. AMWAY! He starts using flash cards to present the Amway business plan. Basically eat, drink, and duplicate. Find enough people who do this and you can earn $300,000 a year.

This drags on for around 3 hours because the Platinum keeps getting sidetracked and goes off on various rants usually something negative happening in the news. The sack of shit loves spreading negativity thinking he can scare his ambots into compliance.

Its now 11pm and I want to go home, go to a bar, go to an all night folk music festival, anywhere but listening to the sack of shit Amway cult leader.

But it ain’t over yet! The “teaching” portion of the Amway cult leading begins after a short break so any guests or anyone who’s not a “serious business builder” can go home. If I can convince someone to give Ambot a ride home, I am outta there!

Unfortunately I’ve stayed for more than my share of Amway cult teachings. These meetings last another hour or two. Very typical for Amway cult meetings to last well past Midnight. The more tired the cult followers are the easier it is for the cult leader to brainwash their minds. Usually now is when the sack of shit Platinum rips into people about what changes they plan to make in their lives. “Oh yeah. I’m going to get divorced because you told me that’s the only way to succeed in the Amway business.” The sack of shit will criticize how the ambots dress, the car they drive, their haircut, the people they hang out with, etc. Mostly he criticizes the group for not sponsoring anyone or bringing prospects to meetings. He’ll talk about the movers and shakers in his downline and sing their praises for the rest of the meeting gabbing on about how those are the people going Platinum, going Diamond. Next month! Within 3 months for sure! Including him. Bypass Emerald and go Diamond!

Not so far! Some of those dumb ass ambots are still in Amway several years after we quit! Stuck at the same level or dropped. Its hard to motivate people to keep buying Amway products and investing in the tool scam once the credit card is maxed out.

No “teaching”. Lots of rants. That pretty much sums up the Amway meetings the Ambot dragged me along to.

AHA! Thus a pyramid! CASE CLOSED!

It’s all about self consuming, internal consumption, etc. This is what makes this scamway thing not a business but an illegal pyramid scheme, a con game. The law and/or scamway itself require ambots to sell about 70%??? of their purchases to real 3rd party customers. But no AMOs teach to self consume. This how we were taught to do 300pv - use 100, eat 100 and drink 100 or sell 100. Even if an ambot sold 100pv (which is not the norm) they would still be breaking this requirement. So ambots reduce the focus of their activities to mainly 2 areas, namely so called “buy pv” and sign up new victims to build their pyramids/downlines. Thus, the definition of an illegal, self-consuming, closed market swindle. As this is self evident as unlawful and a scam MLM “industry” with all of its pernicious players should have been shut down. CASE CLOSED, DEBATE OVER!

BTW A three hour STP must have been excruciatingly painful! Followed by a 2 hour teaching/night owl? 3 times a week? Talk about tilling the brains for brainwashing!

    1. ExAmbot - I forgot to add in the part at Amway meetings where the speaker spends a half hour or so convincing the ambots that Amway is not a pyramid scheme. Uh yes it is. If its not why even bring it up? No one upline ever checks to see if the downline has any actual customers. They told us to make up phony customers and place orders under those names. The dog buying its own dog food came up. No thanks on that overpriced shitty dog food thats full of additives and fillers and makes dogs shit more than when they're on high quality dog food.

Customers not needed depending on how much room the ambot has on their credit card. Might be able to get to 1000 pin level single handedly.

Seeing as how the late night teachings/night owls were basically gossip and bitch about other ambots I rarely stuck around. I didn't always go to meetings 3 times a week. At least once probably twice. I really got out of it by asking ambot to find out if our sponsor Captain Fuck Up was attending and then I'd refuse to go because I can't stand him and won't be in the same room as him. Now that's always a good plan to sign up a friend into Amway when the wife can't stand you. Like that will improve a bad relationship!

  3. Hi anna, I would like to try a little experiment. You take two IBO's one is in a traditional organisation, being "plugged in, doing all the ambot stuff.

IBO # 2 runs his business as a traditional Internet or regular business, actually selling the product and making straight commissions on the product.

My hunch is that # 2 would fail because the products are not competitive, they are overpriced and not that appealing. thereby implying pyramid status.

    what do you think?

    1. Matt - ultimately they are both going to fail because the Amway business has a 99% failure rate so the odds are highly stacked against both of them from the minute they are conned into signing up for the scam.

I'd say #2 has the potential to make money during the first couple of months of signing up if he has enough friends, family, other supporters. People will make pity purchases when someone hounds them about buying their Amway products. As you said due to the high prices and low quality and lack of selection, those will be one time sales to those customers who can find better quality better priced products just about anywhere else.

IBO#1 will be the one who runs up the credit card debt and alienates everyone he knows.

  4. Anna and Ex-Ambot - To give you some idea of how absurd 'MLM income opportunity' fraud is, and how morally and intellectually bankrupt government officicials are, when it comes to dealing with it:

When the UK government finally investigated 'Amway' in 2006 (after 34 years, over one million victims and probably around $one billion removed from the UK economy), civil trade regulators discovered exactly the dissimulated pyramid scam which you perfectly-describe here, but UK government trade regulators are officially not allowed to investigate, or prosecute, criminal acts. They can only file civil lawsuits against offending, UK-registered companies which, if successful, oblige their officers to hand over any money which they have obtained unlawfully. Usually, the offending companies do not have enough visible assets to cover these new liabilities, at which point, they can be declared insolvent and forced to close.

This was the technical procedure(known as a Public Interest Bankruptcy Petition) which (against my informed-advice) ill-informed UK government attorneys set in motion against 'Amway UK Ltd.' in 2007. I was assured that a full criminal investigation would ensue, once the company was closed.

However, the petition was denied, when 'Amway UK's' attorneys, convinced a UK High Court judge that, henceforth, the company would respect UK law. Even though the Judge found that 'Amway UK Ltd.' had been breaking UK law, which forbids payments to join trading schemes, he refused to oblige the company to hand over all the money it had gathered in this way. At no point was it clearly explained to the Judge that the so-called 'sales' in 'Amway' have been merely a means of laundering illegal internal payments in a disimulated closed-market swindle. Amazingly, not one expert or victim of 'Amway UK Ltd.' was produced as a witness.

Thus 'Amway UK Ltd.' was mysteriously allowed to remain registered in the UK without any further penalty or surveillance.

This unsafe judgement was immediately appealed by the UK government's attorneys, on the grounds that it broke legal precedent. However, two out of three UK Appeal Court Judges, refused to overturn the decision and no further evidence could be presented to the Appeal Court.

Unfortunately, the UK goverment had a severe conflict of interest, when it came to facing reality. During the period which 'Amway UK Ltd' operated, the UK government collected many millions of dollars of Value Added retail sales-tax from 'Amway UK Ltd.' on all the illegal internal transactions between the company and its own agents, even though these transactions were not retail sales to the public. Thus, the UK government was actually a major beneficiary of a vast fraud which, for obvious reasons, the UK government then wasn't inclined to expose.

The situation is even worse in the USA, where numerous leading politicians face long prison terms if 'MLM income opportunity' racketeers were ever to be rigorously investigated and prosecuted.

    1. So what you're saying is if there are loopholes in the law then the Amway rats are going to find it.

I barely remember what I was doing in 2006....

Not in Amway - that's for sure. The dark days of Amway hell were not yet upon us!

  5. Anna - Sadly, if you pass a law, but then refuse to enforce it, you are authorizing the very crime which you sought to prohibit.

These were spineless UK government trade officials timidly-pursuing a civil Public Interest Bankruptcy Petition against just one corporate-front for (what the same spineless officials privately-acknowledged to be) a global, organized fraud, because other UK law enforcement agents had refused to enforce English common law which defines lying to, and/or withholding key-information from, people in order to take their money, as criminal fraud which is a form of theft.

Frauds above one million pounds are deemed to be 'serious frauds' in Britain.

Apparently, if really serious fraud is committed by billionaire, US-based 'MLM' racketeers linked to US political leaders and hiding behind corporate-fronts registered in the UK, then British law enforcement agents are too frightened, and/or stupid, and/or lazy, and/or corrupt, even to aknowledge that such major organized crime exists, let alone try to hold its beneficiaries to account.

Remember, one of the attorneys who represented 'Amway UK Ltd.' in 2007, was Peter Kiernan, a former Deputy Director of the UK Serious Fraud Office - the UK law enforcement agency which should have launched a major enquiry into 'MLM income opportunity' fraud many years before.

    1. So when were those laws passed. The people who created the law and the people supposedly enforcing them are probably not the same people.

People who are US billionaires are probably paying off crooked cops and legislators and can probably buy everyone on the UK anyway.

  6. Anna - This is the very heart of the problem, but apparently there is no one in a position of authority in the USA of sufficient moral, and intellectual, calibre to face the shocking truth, let alone do something about it.

The bosses of 'Amway' should have long-since been recognized as some of the most-notorious racketeers in history, but, by using their ill-gotten gains to subvert the democratic process, and rule of law, in the USA and around the world, they have so far avoided being held fully to account for their many financial and psychological crimes against humanity. In reality, all the various elements of the 'Amway' bosses' vast criminal enterprise (including their extensive corrupting of politicians and tampering with the wording of legislation designed to identify and prohibit pyramid scams) forms an overall pattern of ongoing, major racketeering activity (as defined by the US federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, 1970, and clarified by various US Supreme Court Judgements)

Today, if an individual commits fraud in the USA, that individual risks criminal prosecution. However, if Americans maliciously create Mafia-style labyrinths of corporate structures to prevent, and/or divert, investigation of fraud and isolate themselves from liability, then it is a pointless excercize to examine, or prosecute, any element of their criminal enterprise in isolation. Indeed, that is exactly what these racketeers want the authorities to do.

  7. boo hoo. your attitude towards the whole thing is pathetic as hell and I'll bet you have that same attitude in your everyday life. Some IBO's get excited about making it big and some see it as a way to just make some extra money. Making an extra $1000 a month is nothing special and whether you make an extra $1000 on the side of your job or if it's your only income it's a $1000 you wouldn't have anyway, because you put work into it. It's literally impossible for you to say that you can't make money in amway, (FTC regulations and 53 year track record) whether its a 1k or 20k extra you can't frown on people who make their living that way, and in your case nobody really gives a shit how you make your money, and if you can offer us something beter THEN DO IT. My guess is you don't got shit. You probably sell weed on the side of your job and you kiss your bosses ass every day and you don't even realize it. So fuck off and get a life and write a blog about how good your bosses cock tastes. But even if you don't, nobody would STILL give a shit. And your Ambot wife must think you're a steller fuckin dude. Class act winner. I bet your shit doesn't stink either. And you're a millionaire. So all your "readers" can listen to YOU and avoid all Amway meetings to make YOU happy. I'm not an IBO either. And you fucking suck.

    1. At least I'm not some fucked up Ambot from Portland Oregon hitting the Internet at midnight searching for "eat drink duplicate Amway". Hanks for confirming the cult leaders are still preaching that same bullshit after all these years. Nothing ever changes in Scamway. Sure all those lying Amway assholes claim they're making $1000/month but none of them will show any proof and that's because they're a bunch of fucking liars. Yet another lying Ambot who shows up here accusing me of having a job and unable to back up their lie and tell me where my fictional job is. We have owned our own business for many years. We also own the real estate the business sits on. When we sell our business we will make a whole lot more money than any Amway Ambot trying to sell their sham business! If you don't like what you read here don't come back fucking Ambot! Your cult leaders will fucking ride your ass!

  8. Anna, I just became a big fan of this blog. I *almost* started seriously dating someone heavily into Amway. I really loved her, I really cared....but thank God I never did. Guess why? Amway. I hate Amway more than any other company in the world. They are not even a legitimate business in my opinion. They are in the business of manipulating people into forking over money. It is horrible, sick, and wrong. I heard a rumor somewhere that the French government ran them out of their country and pursued them in the US Courts for a while. Thankfully, I'm married to a sweet person who loves me and is definitely not into Amway! However, I do work hard, have a strong desire to try my hand at REAL entrepreneurship someday. Best wishes to you. Tell your ex-Ambot to think about exploring real entrepreneurship, something that solves a problem they want to solve or permits them to be creative in a way they deeply enjoy. Best wishes!

    1. Sam - thank you for your nice words and reading the blog! Yup you made the right decision not getting involved with someone in Amway. Your life would have become hell! That's the easy part. It's when you are married or in a relationship with someone and then Amway comes into your life. Then it's harder battling the evil that has invaded your life. Best wishes to you too and hope you continue to enjoy a life without this scam!

  10. One idiot tried recruiting me to Amway on Facebook. I graduated from a top law school and work at a Am200 law firm. Told him I don't have time for him. He proceeded to criticize my career decisions and said I'll likely be broke by 65 years old. WOW!

Pretty hilarious how all these Amway people running a business (really a scam) have ZERO business skills.

  11. anna. I need your help. i am a make up artist and i am now qualified to study psychology. In fact i got into this awesome university ( i don't want to mention names, its already scary enough that i have my shown public on the comment). My boyfriend is a HUGE ambot and i finally might have gotten him to semi-wake up! what made you realise what this all is? They always always repeat and repeat how oh bloggers are shit talkers thats all they have because theyre like 60 year olds in their mums basement not getting anywhere. seriously It makes me angry that they talk down upon people who just live a normal life. i have no problem with this amway thing as long as its like... not something my boyfriend depends on. I know for a fact these *$^#*$&s are selling a dream they don't even have yet. and this is a huge sales pitch for all those vulnerable people out there. Please let me know! thank you so much!

    1. Hi Grace. I figured it out when I realized we were being lied to about things that no one else would really care about. I kept hearing over and over that Amway owns the Amway Arena in Orlando Florida. A search on the Internet shows its owned by the city of Orlando and they out the name rights for advertising up to bids and the highest bidder gets their name on the arena for a set amount of years. Then I started looking further reading what others had to say about their Amway experiences which were creepily the same as ours. Look on the right side of this page for Amway links and there's a free ebook called Merchants of Deception that you can read and hopefully convince your boyfriend to read too. When someone has 1000 people in their downline and only makes 2 or 3 thousand a month then it's clear we've been lied to about the compensation. Reading other people's stories helps to know you're not in this alone. Don't let these scammers steal any more of your time and money.

Comments are moderated but we publish just about everything. Even brainwashed ambots who show up here to accuse us of not trying hard enough and that we are lazy, quitters, negative, unchristian dreamstealers. Like we haven’t heard that Amspeak abuse from the assholes in our upline!

If your comment didn’t get published it could be one of these reasons:
1. Is it the weekend? We don’t moderate comments on weekends. Maybe not every day during the week either. Patience.
2. Racist/bigoted comments? Take that shit somewhere else.
3. Naming names? Public figures like politicians and actors and people known in Amway are probably OK – the owners, Diamonds with CDs or who speak at functions, people in Amway’s publicity department who write press releases and blogs. Its humiliating for people to admit their association with Amway so respect their privacy if they’re not out there telling everyone about the love of their life.
4. Gossip that serves no purpose. There are other places to dish about what Diamonds are having affairs or guessing why they’re getting divorced. If you absolutely must share that here – don’t name names. I get too many nosy ambots searching for this. Lets not help them find this shit.
5. Posting something creepy anonymously and we can’t track your location because you’re on a mobile device or using hide my ass or some other proxy. I attracted an obsessed fan and one of my blog administrators attracted a cyberstalker. Lets keep it safe for everyone. Anonymous is OK. Creepy anonymous and hiding – go fuck yourselves!
6. Posting something that serves no purpose other than to cause fighting.
7. Posting bullshit Amway propaganda. We might publish that comment to make fun of you. Otherwise take your agenda somewhere else. Not interested.
8. Notice how this blog is written in English? That's our language so keep your comments in English too. If you leave a comment written in another language then we either have to use Google translate to put it into English so everyone can understand what you wrote or we can hit the Delete button. Guess which one is easier for us to do?
9. We suspect you're a troublemaking Amway asshole.
10. Your comment got caught in the spam filter. Gets checked occasionally. We’ll get to you eventually and approve it as long as it really isn’t spam.
