My story of what its like to be married to an Amway cult follower. I expose the lies that our upline told and what happens at Amway meetings and functions. I leave the explanations of why Amway is a poor business opportunity or the tool scam to other bloggers. This blog mainly exists to curse out my former upline, aka the cult leaders, and to let everyone know what kind of idiots I had to put up with. Feel free to join in or live vicariously!

Is Amway Really Worth Divorce and Bankruptcy?
14 comments:
Comments are moderated but we publish just about everything. Even brainwashed ambots who show up here to accuse us of not trying hard enough and that we are lazy, quitters, negative, unchristian dreamstealers. Like we haven’t heard that Amspeak abuse from the assholes in our upline!
If your comment didn’t get published it could be one of these reasons:
1. Is it the weekend? We don’t moderate comments on weekends. Maybe not every day during the week either. Patience.
2. Racist/bigoted comments? Take that shit somewhere else.
3. Naming names? Public figures like politicians and actors and people known in Amway are probably OK – the owners, Diamonds with CDs or who speak at functions, people in Amway’s publicity department who write press releases and blogs. Its humiliating for people to admit their association with Amway so respect their privacy if they’re not out there telling everyone about the love of their life.
4. Gossip that serves no purpose. There are other places to dish about what Diamonds are having affairs or guessing why they’re getting divorced. If you absolutely must share that here – don’t name names. I get too many nosy ambots searching for this. Lets not help them find this shit.
5. Posting something creepy anonymously and we can’t track your location because you’re on a mobile device or using hide my ass or some other proxy. I attracted an obsessed fan and one of my blog administrators attracted a cyberstalker. Lets keep it safe for everyone. Anonymous is OK. Creepy anonymous and hiding – go fuck yourselves!
6. Posting something that serves no purpose other than to cause fighting.
7. Posting bullshit Amway propaganda. We might publish that comment to make fun of you. Otherwise take your agenda somewhere else. Not interested.
8. Notice how this blog is written in English? That's our language so keep your comments in English too. If you leave a comment written in another language then we either have to use Google translate to put it into English so everyone can understand what you wrote or we can hit the Delete button. Guess which one is easier for us to do?
9. We suspect you're a troublemaking Amway asshole.
10. Your comment got caught in the spam filter. Gets checked occasionally. We’ll get to you eventually and approve it as long as it really isn’t spam.
Good for them they got out of that snake-pit before they made a family. I hate those Amway reps, always trying to pull one up their sleeve! I hope the rest of the people can open their eyes the way this couple did.
ReplyDeleteYou got it Anonymous. Ambots don't need to be bringing children into this cult of greed and ignoring them while they spend nights and weekends at Amway cult meetings. No kid should go through that shit and fortunately these parents realized that the Amway cult is no place to raise a family.
DeleteDuring my time in Amway, I remember sitting in open meetings & team meetings thinking to myself "I wonder if all these powerhouse couples standing up here are actually having struggles in their marriages behind the scenes?" They all came off as having this perfect marriage with no problems, which was always a little strange to me. After reading this post and others like it, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of times it was just a facade and these 'platinum level couples' actually had problems in the marriage because of all the stress and pressure, and were not happy day in and day out. Of course they would never show any of this in front of downline if this was the case.
ReplyDeleteMuzik_dude - I've been to many Amway functions and all these Barbie and Kens stop across the stage to bullshit the audience. Usually Ken does all the talking and Barbie sits there gazing affectionately at him. Maybe she's thinking the same thing I am. Just shut the fuck up already. We know they don't all have the happy marriage they pretend to have on stage because they get divorced. Every day I get lots of searchers looking for shit on just about every Diamond couple out there as divorced. Whether they are or not. It goes in the search criteria. It's a lot of stress being in a business that's a scam and is all about lying and your marriage becomes a lie too. Also many Diamonds end up in financial difficulty trying to pretend they lead a high flying lifestyle on a Kraft dinner budget. It's hard to stay in a marriage that's all about debt and lies. But yeah they'd put a show on in front of the downline pretending to be a happy couple in a pretend business.
DeleteIt always amazed me how many couples were at the meetings and tried to put up such a front. Trying to hold hands listening to people talk. Or if one spoke they would finish and then give the spouse a kiss and then they would hold hands. It's all bullshit. I'm glad I didn't go to any of those fake ass out of state pep rallies that more than break the bank. With all that money I can get a tune up and other things done for my car.
ReplyDeleteAmway isn't worth shit. And the sad things is divorce isn't the only casualty of Amway. You have other sorts of relationships with friends and relatives. Then there's also the looking and feeling like an idiot stuff when you are constantly going to public places trying to engage in conversations of intended recruits. No matter what it's always more bad than good, if not all bad. But of course, they expect you to keep doing it and being positive with that fake ass smile they like to give you.
I'll add in is Amway worth losing your sanity? But really you can't go wrong with whatever you insert because with Amway you'll lose a ton.
You got it Sprigsleg. There is so much to lose in Amway including your sanity. I'm amazed you didn't go to out of state functions. How did your upline let you get away with that? Didn't they bitch and scream at you and accuse you of not being a serious business builder and whatever other insults they use.
DeleteOh yes, it was amazing that they didn't. In fact when I first talked about the money they insisted on any little bit at any time would help. Then when I said what was around that time (something at my Church) my upline said that there was a Chapel where the function would be. Of course he would have one of the "higher" people in the group talk to us. The first time he gave about a 5-10 minute talk about things in life we are faced with and the decisions we make and did say that he definitely can't tell us to go. Next time he starts talking about how he's had to miss his brother's wedding, funerals, family get togethers, etc. He also has relatives that think less of him as we speak. Then it was more of the "you guys need to find a way to get down there" as my brother was in too.
DeleteWe didn't have a pushy upline. In fact, he was nicer than what many people have dealt with. Another thing, my brother and I didn't go to every single meeting. Even when we did we hardly clapped despite idiots saying how "amped" and "pumped up" they were. It was just over 2 months when we got out. The last straw came when their was some type of training that would "give people 6 months advanced information" and it would be several hours and free. he upline said "you guys definitely would want to be there". We went and that crock of shit lasted 3-4 hours, and it was all repetitive bullshit. Same crap they said before, and same old "woooooooo!" cheering. My butt fell asleep a few times and I was getting annoyed. We went home, the next day my brother and I talked about Amway. We dissed it, with me doing most of it. I couldn't believe the 6 months of advance information was that.
After that we met with the upline and he was shocked, and talked about how we were excited. I stopped him immediately and said that we weren't excited. He said he wanted to remain friends and we said it was ok, and after Thanksgiving we never heard from him. Big deal. All I cared about was Free At Last!
Sprigsleg - we heard all that same shit too about all the sacrifices the assholes in our upline were making by attending Amway meetings instead of going to funerals, weddings, being at the wife's side while she's giving birth, etc etc. These assholes think that makes them look good? Nope. Makes them look a bunch of jerks. All that clapping and cheering going on at Scamway meetings was disgusting the way those ambots adored the cult leaders and their material possessions. They never want to be friends unless they can make money off you. Good riddance!
DeleteAll that kissy kissing on stage is a front. There's a crown in BWW who was up to no good with his secretary employee. When the wife discovered she divorced his a$$. He married the younger sec. Now they both speak as crowns. Of course the former wife was hush hushed outta there with no mention to ambots of whatever. Ambots just saw a wife 2.0 on stage busy speaking. Clowns!
ReplyDeleteExAmbot - of course it's an act. Those Diamonds get paid thousands of dollars to show up and speak to the cult followers. That's how they make the bulk of their income from speaking and selling tickets to the function. They can put on an act of how loving they are and then get backstage and start fighting. Sometimes people meet someone else they'd rather have a relationship with and get divorced. Probably wasn't cheap for the son of a bitch and then slotting in wife 2 like she's been with him since day 1 slinging bullshit. Yup and then all these nosy ambots end up at my blog searching for information on all these ambots who are getting or got divorced.
DeleteI have to assume that the most disgruntled were those who suckered themselves into thinking they would get rich quick, if only they followed the advice of their upline. When I first got involved, I bought a few products which I liked, but it didn't make much impression on people around me, so within a year I gave it up. I didn't make a big deal about it. A friend, who I had tried to sponsor back then, recently got involved, and I decided to join again to get the discount on products I enjoyed. If I decide to "work the business", it will be at my own pace and on my own terms. I don't expect any more than to enjoy the products, and if some people want to buy from my website, that's fine. I never got sucked into throwing away money on tools, etc. the first time, and it won't happen now. If you feel anger for making foolish choices, it's on you, otherwise you could take your upline to court. We both know the case would get tossed out, which is why all you are left with is advertising your foolish choices on the web.. Amway will continue to grow regardless, just as it has for the last five decades.
ReplyDeleteIf you just like the products wouldn't it b cheaper to just buy from your friend. That way you save the annual fee to Amway to buy their products plus as a customer you get free shipping if you meet the minimum $ requirement. As you said it would be foolish to take the upline to court. Even if you win they got no money to pay it because they sink all their money into Amway so it will be a hollow victory. It is more effective to call the police and report the upline as committing fraud and then let the police decide if there's enough evidence to charge them and send them to jail.
DeleteI have had a worse situation. My husband divorced me when I refused to build the business because I had delivered a baby boy. It was all planned by him and his upline while I was in India. My ex husband only kept a relation with me till I was building business alingwith him for 4 yrs without any result. Now he has left amway and remarried but spoilt my and my son's life
ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous. Sorry to hear that happened to you. Nothing brings the assholes in the Amway upline more happiness than destroying other people's relationships. They work hard to separate the Ambot from their family and friends. Common cult tactic. You're better off without that Amway loser in your life.
