Getting Prospected By An Amway Ambot Part 2

Continued. A reader shares his story about how Amway scammers follow a script and how Amway Ambots are tax evaders.

Monday night I went to this meeting. I told the upline that I didn't think that I would be able to get enough people to buy Amway products. No one that I know does extensive online shopping, they all prefer to go to a physical store, and I can't imagine anyone spending $68 for Vitamin C when they can get twice as much for 10% of the price at Walgreens. I told him that I didn't have enough time right now to devote to Amway, and that the idea that the only way to make money was to recruit more people concerned me. Oversaturation maybe?

My favorite part was when I brought up taxes. The upline kept talking about how all the travel could be deducted as a business expense, so I asked how reporting income for tax purposes works.
Him: "Well, it's more of a hobby, so we don't need to pay taxes on income."
Me: "So how can you deduct travel as a business expense, if it's not a business?"
Him: "It is a business, you own your own business."
Me: "But you said it was a hobby, then a business."
Him: "You can't really understand how it works until you're operating your own business."
Riiiiight. I'd rather not get audited for screwing with my taxes like that, or find out that you're lying and screwing me over.

Anyway, I was the third or fourth person that night that he tried to sell on the idea, and the only one that asked any questions or wanted to research the idea. Everyone else signed up immediately and dropped $165 without even knowing what they had to do. Complete idiots! I told the guy that I wanted to look at my schedule and look into Amway more and see if I thought it would be good for me. Essentially, I just wanted him off my ass for the night, I had stuff to do and he just kept pushing.

So at the end of the meeting, he sent me on my way under the assumption that I would be returning the next week overflowing with excitement about Amway and would sign up. He also gave me some of the XS stuff (one sip was gross enough for me) and a cd to listen to (Eric Thomas is far more motivational).

The next meeting was supposed to be last night, and I told the guy that had tried to recruit me (he only contacted me about 5 times to see when I could meet, I do have a life outside of constantly checking my phone) to tell the upline that I was too busy to be at the meeting and felt that I was too busy to "open my own business" (I love how they pass off Amway as their business, it's not their own at all) and didn't have time for Amway. Haven't heard from anyone in over 24 hours, so they've either given up on me, or are planning a new way to make me understand that I do have time for Amway.

As a side note: one of the new recruits asked the upline if he was a millionaire, after the upline told us that it was so easy to become a millionaire in a few years. He told her that he wasn't one yet, but was guaranteed to be by the time he is 30. First of all, this actually could be possible, because he spends his entire life recruiting people for downline and to buy his products, he might actually make some money, but only because he deceives everyone he knows for his own benefit (he forced his mom to buy Amway product), but he won't make a million in the next 8 years, only way to do that is to have a REAL job or own a REAL business. Second, no income is ever guaranteed, things happen, there is no way to guarantee money will be there outside of a CD or savings bond. Maybe these Amway fellows need some personal finance classes. Finally, when she asked to see some numbers, he wouldn't show her anything, which would logically tell someone that the numbers he says are false. Sad thing is, she still paid $165 and signed up for Amway.

  1. Those were great questions asked about Amway expenses and taxes.

Here's a link to an article about how the IRS and the courts view certain Amway expenses:

    http://www.dissidentvoice.org/Jan05/Pringle0102.htm

    Another thing to remember:

If your business operated at a 'loss' for 3 of the past 5 years (e.g. you had a net profit during only 2 of the past 5 years) then the IRS can deem your business a "hobby" and disallow lots of expenses. It's called the "hobby loss rule".

Here's an article explaining this rule:

    1. Hi Anonymous - yup Amway ambots don't grasp the whole concept of what can and can't be claimed on taxes because they're taught at Amway meetings they can deduct everything off their income from their J.O.B. and the way they make money in Amway is by way of a tax refund. Thanks for the links!

  2. I don't mind spending more if its better quality for personal care or health foods. But 60.00+ for vitamin C is just insane. I use to tell my Amway recruiter I get free soap, shampoo, mouthwash, coffee, toilet paper, etc. From my job at a ritzy five star hotel. He and the platinum asshole said I won't succeed in this. You gotta buy from your own business. I laughed cause the products I gotten free where higher quality than Amway.

    1. Hi Anonymous - its hard to find a product out there that's worse than what Amway sells! I don't know of any! Getting free is always better than paying. A friend of mine used to get free grocery items from the warehouse she worked at if one of the forklift operators smushed some boxes. The product couldn't be sold but it could be given away to the staff.

  3. This post about the 68.00 vitamin c gives me a smile. Cause I went to a meeting at a edc diamond. I thought these people are ultra hardcore and every product used in his home was from Amway. I'm in the washroom and runs out of toilet paper. Underneath the sink I find Amway toilet paper. But I also see bottles and bottles of other brand vitamins and supplements from another company(probably baught at Walmart lol) Infront of the group edc says everything is Amway. But I wonder if even the edc diamond think Amway vitamins are overpriced. He probably keeps the Amway containers and fills it up with another brands. Of course he gets his down line to buy 100% from Amway.

    1. Anonymous - don't you hate it when that happens!? You should have used their face cloth and flushed it and then got out of there before the toilet started running over! LOL!!! Good one. They probably buy better quality lower priced vitamins and put them in the Nutrilite bottles. Now I'm starting to figure out why we were always told to hang on to our empty containers and bring them to the upline's house instead of tossing them out.

  4. I always laugh when they say that to be successful one has to buy from their own store. Where is the profit in that? So basically they are using their own money to buy something, where does the "success" come in? Sure, one has to show faith in their own products but, again, how does that take the Ambot any closer to financial "success"? But, of course, that's the point of the stupid plan. Be your own customer and try to get other suckers to do the same thing. But since the Amway products are so grossly overpriced, ultimately they lose money because they are paying more than they would have buying from a real store and finding (and keeping) enough other suckers under them to eventually make a profit is close to impossible (i.e. less than 1% chance) of doing. But, gosh, keep dreaming and ignoring reality.

    1. Yup sign up to Amway and be scammed into believing you own your own business when all you've done is sign up and pay the big bucks to belong to an expensive buying club.

    2. Friend of mines told me his upline for another mlm. Baught 10,000 of product and returned it. The company sent him a cheque for 10 grand. He used the cheque to recruit and build a massive downline. You gotta be a major scamming dirtbag to make it. Many of the big pins probably rarely buy from Amway. But convince others to.

    3. Hi Anonymous - that's a common trick in Amway too. Buy something like 50 boxes of laundry soap then send them back and get a refund check to bullshit the downline ambots into believing that's how much money they made that month in Amway. The checks will always be photocopied and that way they can doctor them and change the date and amount and keep the scam going for awhile.

  5. Why would any ibo or prospects buy amway nutrilite or any other product from a ibo? You don't even have to wait very long before the amway product is on eBay or amazon for less than half of what it'll cost from Amway

    1. Anonymous - I've seen some dumb asses selling Amway's XS on Amazon for more than retail price! If someone was fucked up enough to want to drink that piss water it would be cheaper for them to buy it off Amway's web site or I guess they'd have to go through an ambot. Yeah I can see how ambots want to unload that overpriced shit for whatever they can get or else just end up throwing it away.

    2. I've seen the amway vitamin c listed on eBay for 32.00. Still a ripoff in my opinion. Anna, I wrote awhile back about finding a couple of bottles of monavie piss water while jogging. Had problems unloading it even for 13.00 per bottle on Craigslist.

      Delete
    3. Anonymous - everything in Amway is a rip off. You can probably buy Vitamin C for around $5 in the drugstore. I don't know cause I don't buy it. Try eating a few oranges for the same effect! Yeah I remember someone saying they found intact bottles of Monavie dumped on the ground and taking them and I'm thinking gross I would have left them where they are!

  6. With a 99% failure rate you're better off with the lotto

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Nick - I'd say the odds on the lotto are much better than Amway. In Amway you have to spend at least $500/month (or more) on overpriced shitty products to earn at least $10 in commission and monthly membership fee into the cult sect plus Communikate and buying CD;s and books. Most people probably don't spend $500/month in lotto tickets. Maybe $20 to $50 in tickets each month and they probably make it back, and if they're really lucky maybe more. But at least they'll make more than an Amway ambot makes in a month and put in less money. Or even take that $20 to a casino. There's a chance that you'll walk out with more than that in your pocket and even if you lose it, you're still up at least $480 on how much an Amway ambot squandered away that month!

      Delete
    2. The house edge at the casino for blackjack and baccarat is less than 2%. Way better than the Amway odds.

    3. I happily buy a lotto ticket every now and then. It just serves a great FU spirit to spite the gods of scAmway that I do whatever the hell I wants with my money and I ain't checking upline for freakin nuthin! Yeah I love it! Think about it after you quite scAmway what the hell do you do with all the extra cash in your pockets that's just calling for your attention?

      Delete
    4. Yeah I buy lotto tickets sometimes too and I'm always pretty certain that I'm going to win but then they call some other bastard's numbers! Yeah isn't it nice to have the disposable income that used to be squandered on Amway shit.

  7. The vitamin c isn't even the biggest ripoff. Seen Artistry youth extend power system with cream on Amway.com and its 257.00.....which doesn't even include shipping lol. By looking at the website you don't get much. Nothing but a barely legal money game. Some ambots use to make fun at monavies piss water for 40.00 per bottle. Ambots should look in the mirror and realize they aren't much better.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Anonymous - all Amway's cosmetics are a huge rip off but that $257 is the highest I've seen for their cream. I thought $60 was a rip off - but wow! That's why this website is here - to make fun of Amway ambots. The way those bastards treat everyone else with their snide sneering attitude and around here they get it thrown back in their face. Oh yes fun times!

  8. That's how Amway has taken over Avon in sales with 12 billion. By having crazy pricing like 60.00+ for vitamin c and 257.00 skin cream. Gave every king pin a raise without adding to marketing plan and corporation is also benefiting. The puryears and other leaders needed new money since their system income is drying up. With blogs like Anna's and others lol.

    1. At least Avon has better products at much better prices. And keep their customers for years and years. Amway can keep their customers for a few months maybe as long as the IBO is active! Yup with the Internet and information easier to come by Amway ambots are finding it harder to convince people to sign up for their cult and lose their money and their minds.

  9. So do you go around copying and pasting your article on every blog you can find or did you stop by here for 2 drop by bombings? Most people are all for working at home and you mentioned a couple of legitimate work from home businesses. And then you fucked yourself with your email address. Screams scam all over it.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Yes, I'm leery of most "Earn money working from home" things as the majority end up being big time scams. Sure, some are legit, but one has to be wary of red flags (buying start up kits, ridiculous claims of how much one can earn like stuffing envelopes, etc). I agree on that e-mail address (gmail), screams "scam" to me.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Anonymous - the weird thing is this guy mentions a couple of legitimate work from home businesses that many people operate. And then wants people to contact him for more information on a freemail address that says workfromhome in the title. Screams scam all over it. People - there are no work from home jobs stuffing envelopes. Corporations either have a machine that folds the propaganda and another machine that stuffs it into envelopes. Or else they send it out to a 3rd party that operates such a business. These machines can stuff thousands of envelopes an hour. Nobody manually stuffs envelopes for mass mailings. Same with making jewellery at home. If you're good enough to make jewellery sell it yourself on eBay or Etsy. No need to find a "boss" who will never pay you cause something will always be wrong with your jewel making skills. Go to the library and check out a book about starting a home based business and there will be lots of ideas in there.

  12. I took the advice of Anna. Told a Ambot recruiter my dream is to be a producer of gay porn. Also said I want to own a mansion with a bunch of young girls swimming around naked all day. The Ambot had a fake smile but couldn't be to rude for wasting his time.

    1. Hi Anonymous - would've loved to be around for that one! But it works. Amway ambots are prudes so you have to come up with good stuff like you did to get rid of them because telling them no or fuck off doesn't always work so good. You should follow up with him and tell him you're looking for investors in your gay porn flick. That'll be funny!

    2. Same here would have loved to see the face of horror and a fake a smile.

Couple of years back we were prospected and saw it coming. After listening to the criminal patter I countered that we were looking for interested couples for swing get together later that night and would they be open minded? The look of absolute horror on the preachy wife and the confused look on the hubby were selfie worthy. First time I used it even my wifey was in shock-but she's come to understand to expect anything when it comes to me and ambots/MLMbots. Anyway it's my tried and perfected method to send them ascooting.

      Delete
    3. ExAmbot - I think there are ambots out there who'd be into swinging. Pretty sure we got a post about it here somewhere! LOL! Should look for it and bring it up again sometime! Yeah anything you can use as shock value on an ambot to get rid of them for good - go for it!

Sheesh, it's like trying to quit Comcast or AOL. AOL's still around, but no longer doing what they did. OTOH, some of these folks could do well as that Comcast rep who badgers you to stay with them when you try to quit.

At the meetings I've been to, some of the other folks were more perceptive... One guy gave a dumbfounded-ish answer saying he had family obligations and couldn't go to that big Amway convention. He may have been mentally numb from that bs meeting, but he still saw through their bs.

Speaking of which, they had the nerve to say we were going to spend the gas money anyways (for a 115 mile one-way trip!? No! If I had something like that planned, it would def. be more important than this!), may as well check it out! People from Ireland and Great Britain would be there! Bs either way. Actually, I hope no1 really took a flight in just to attend that.

If I were to go back to these things, I'd ask the Ambot what he did when he raised his arm (to signaled a senior goon over to try to further AmSpeak me). I'd try it too, it wouldn't work, so I'd just walk over to a fellow prospectee, tell his ambot I need to speak to him in private. Whether or not the privacy was granted, I'd ask him when he noticed these sales pitches were horribly off. :D Calling them out would've been the only satisfaction from attending these.

Comments are moderated but we publish just about everything. Even brainwashed ambots who show up here to accuse us of not trying hard enough and that we are lazy, quitters, negative, unchristian dreamstealers. Like we haven’t heard that Amspeak abuse from the assholes in our upline!

If your comment didn’t get published it could be one of these reasons:
1. Is it the weekend? We don’t moderate comments on weekends. Maybe not every day during the week either. Patience.
2. Racist/bigoted comments? Take that shit somewhere else.
3. Naming names? Public figures like politicians and actors and people known in Amway are probably OK – the owners, Diamonds with CDs or who speak at functions, people in Amway’s publicity department who write press releases and blogs. Its humiliating for people to admit their association with Amway so respect their privacy if they’re not out there telling everyone about the love of their life.
4. Gossip that serves no purpose. There are other places to dish about what Diamonds are having affairs or guessing why they’re getting divorced. If you absolutely must share that here – don’t name names. I get too many nosy ambots searching for this. Lets not help them find this shit.
5. Posting something creepy anonymously and we can’t track your location because you’re on a mobile device or using hide my ass or some other proxy. I attracted an obsessed fan and one of my blog administrators attracted a cyberstalker. Lets keep it safe for everyone. Anonymous is OK. Creepy anonymous and hiding – go fuck yourselves!
6. Posting something that serves no purpose other than to cause fighting.
7. Posting bullshit Amway propaganda. We might publish that comment to make fun of you. Otherwise take your agenda somewhere else. Not interested.
8. Notice how this blog is written in English? That's our language so keep your comments in English too. If you leave a comment written in another language then we either have to use Google translate to put it into English so everyone can understand what you wrote or we can hit the Delete button. Guess which one is easier for us to do?
9. We suspect you're a troublemaking Amway asshole.
10. Your comment got caught in the spam filter. Gets checked occasionally. We’ll get to you eventually and approve it as long as it really isn’t spam.
