The last time we ran the post about Amway's fucking brainwashed defenders, one of our readers had this to say:
Anna, over the last few years I
have noticed that there aren’t as many Amway defenders showing up here as there
were before. There could be several reasons for this. Here are a few:
1) Amway up-line may have cracked the whip, and insisted more forcefully that
all IBOs avoid the internet, and especially anti-Amway websites.
2) There are fewer and fewer Amway IBOs in North America, so they just don’t
show up here as frequently.
3) Whenever they do show up here, they get their asses kicked so badly that
they don’t dare to return.
4) They realize how stupid they sound repeating the same canned Amway
propaganda year after year, with little variation, so they are too embarrassed
to come here.
5) Their glaring errors in grammar, spelling, and general literacy are so
laughable that they realize they are making fools of themselves, as well as
discrediting the entire Amway racket.
6) Amway’s sales figures in North America are collapsing so heavily that
hundreds of IBOs are simply dropping out of the business and writing off Amway
as a lost cause.
7) The arguments against Amway and other MLM schemes have become stronger and
more pointed over the last five years, and are now much harder to refute.
8) Amway’s reputation is now so deep in the toilet that people are afraid to
say anything at all publicly in its favor, lest they be dismissed as morons.
Whatever the reason or reasons might be, you can claim a large portion of the
credit for damaging Amway. Congratulations, Anna! This blog has turned out to
be Amway’s worst nightmare. You did it!

ReplyDeleteI'd like to say something about all of the anti-Amway websites. They have each contributed to the fight against Amway and MLMs in general, but in different styles. Your site is the absolute best, in my opinion.
David Brear is a good and brave man, and his site is a top-notch place for solid analysis of the MLM disease. I read him constantly. More power to him! But the fact is that his site tends to be overly intellectual and cerebral, and therefore doesn't have the kind of wide and popular influence that yours has.
Joe Cool has a great site, and he has done solid service in this war with his regularity, his constant forceful arguments, and his unselfishness -- I say this last thing, because he is now a retired man who is independently wealthy, and who doesn't need to run an anti-Amway website. But he does so out of sheer disinterested concern for persons who might be taken in by the Amway racket. That is TRUE public service, and I salute Joe Cool for it. But Joe Cool is much too nice a guy, and he never hits the Amway schmucks really HARD. He doesn't have a fighting personality. That's OK, because we all are the way we are. Joe Cool is still a great and indispensable soldier in this ongoing war.
But you, Anna? You've got the anger of an aroused TIGER! You don't let these Amway shitheads get away with anything! You have savaged them and their fake "business" for years and years, without stop! You have ripped the living guts out of plenty of Ambots, and the Amway assholes who run the damned racket.

DeleteDavid Brear primarily wrote for another anti-Amway blog whose name escapes me right now but it'll probably come to me right as I'm about to fall asleep tonight! And then about 10 years ago he started his current blog about MLM dream turned to nightmare. And yes he's highly educated and writes at a reading level for university educated which is not easy to grasp for many - including me!
Joe Cool was one of the first bloggers I found when looking for information about Amway and he lays it out why Amway is a bad business opportunity.
I met other women online who had the same Amway stories of destroyed families and destroyed finances and we realized the woman's voice was not out there. There were more anti-Amway blogs back then and all of them were written by men and none of them dealing with the emotional upheaval Amway brings to people's lives so we decided that we needed to cover it. I only saw one other woman blogger about 10 years ago and she had signed up for Amway but was keeping an open mind whether or not she'd made a good or bad decision and a few months later her blog disappeared so we know how her Amway story went - the same as most. There was woman writing a blog about her time in Monavie also around 10 years ago but she didn't keep it up and that was before Monavie collapsed.
Most companies know the last thing they need to deal with is a bunch of pissed off women. Amway is too arrogant to think that women's voices don't count. Part of that is the good old boy's club. Women are to be seen and not heard attitude. Well fuck Amway our voices are being heard!
None of us makes a penny blogging. We write about our Amway experiences as a public service and hope we can help others see Amway is a bad idea and a scam to be avoided.
Thank you so much for creating this blog, Anna Banana! I very recently started seeing a man who is part of Amway. He's been part of it for ~10 years and his whole community is Amway. He has all the CDs/books, has a mentor, goes to the conferences, believes in the Prosperity Gospel and is fully bought into the vision. I just found out last week that he is part of it and I believe it is a scam and want to talk with him about it. I feel sad for him and am curious if he will be open to hearing my perspective about it. Do you have any tips or suggestions for how to have this conversation? Thank you so much!

DeleteBut let's get to the facts you don't want to hear. Your new boyfriend has been in ScAmway for 10 years. He's a lifer. Nothing you can do or say will sway him from his brainwashed belief about what a great cult he's in. He'll have a bullshit canned Amspeak response for every argument you put in front of him. Anyone who has a different opinion than his Amway cult leader is the enemy. The fucking assholes in his Amway upline will stop at nothing to destroy his relationship with an infidel like you who is not part of the Amway cult. You will either have to join up or go because nothing brings those Amway losers more happiness than destroying other people's relationships.
Now here's some tough love whether you want to hear it or not.
Do you want to hitch your wagon to a broke Amway loser? Do you want everyone laughing at you because your boyfriend is a dumb fuck who's part of the Amway Cult of Greed. Are you prepared for the financial and emotional distress that goes along with your relationship with an Amway loser? I say cut your losses now before you suffer any greater emotional and financial distress. You deserve a better life than a broke loser who's in the Amway cult can give you.

You're welcome Anonymous. The man who wrote the book had 1000 people in his downline and his annual income was 35k at the highest. A far cry from the high 6 figures Amway cult leaders say Emeralds should be making LOL! Does your boyfriend know 1000 suckers willing to sign up to ScAmway? And be devoted slaves and tithe the Great Amway God for the rest of their lives? If so he too can make about 30k. Really, working at McDonalds would be easier, less hours, and better pay!
