The Stepford Ambots

I remember seeing the original Stepford Wives movie on TV back in the days when the networks did more made for TV movies. I also have the DVD of the screen version starring Matthew Broderick and Nicole Kidman.

What was going on in Stepford is also going on in Amway. In the movie the wives are controlled by their husbands who are always attending men’s club meetings and are ultimately controlled by one or two men who are the leaders. Depending on which movie you’re familiar with the women are either murdered and robots take their place or they have a computer disk inserted in their brain that controls them.

Either way the women - or keeping up with the times in the newer version which included a gay couple and zapped one man - become mindless submissive robots controlled by their husbands. Oh and the wives fawn all over their men with unnatural over the top devotion and dedication. Very much like zombies.

This is what I saw in the Amway cult.

Men’s club meetings? The Amway meetings were male oriented always led by a male cult leader. Some wives attended Amway meetings with their husbands. Many men were single and coming stag to the Amway meetings. Many married men came stag too after their wives became fed up with the mind control bullshit and losing money. Some meetings were just men only no women allowed. Who remembers the clubhouses we had when we were kids and the boys usually had a “girls keep out” sign hanging outside. Like that. These men only Amway meetings are where the cult leaders try to cause trouble in their downline’s marriages and destroy their relationships.

To become a Stepford ambot one must do whatever the scum sucking upline demands. They have to say the things the upline wants to hear, wear the clothes the upline wants you to wear, eat the snacks the upline wants you to eat, buy the things upline wants you to buy, drop whatever you’re doing and rush to the upline’s side if they beckon, etc, etc.

I have to stop. Sometimes I find it really sickening to relive these memories but I know by writing them down and sharing the anguish I went through that I can help others.

Wives had to display this over the top zombie like devotion to their husbands. Just watch those Ken and Barbies stomping across the stage at Amway functions. Barbie might have a few words to say but mostly she stands there gazing adoringly at Warrior Ken.

I don’t know about the rest of you guys but my husband gets really nervous if I’m staring him down!

That’s what life is like once you sign up with Amway. Welcome to Stepford! Leave your brain at the door. You are now an ambot.

Shut Up And Do As You’re Told!

Our sack of shit Platinum was a dictator who ordered his cult followers around and demanded complete obedience. They better follow his orders or else! The or else would be public ridicule at the next Amway cult meeting where he would berate the unfortunate ambot. And then he would give them the silent treatment.

I remember an instance where Ambot busted his ass getting our chairs to a cult meeting but we had something else going on that night and he was unable to attend. I was pissed off about the chairs. Someone upline had ordered Ambot to bring the damn chairs even though we weren’t going to be at the cult meeting. Of course they asked Ambot who was only too happy to serve them seeing as how the sack of shit Platinum had stroked his ego by calling him a server. No one called me to ask about borrowing the chairs and bringing them to the meeting because my answer would be NO. If you want to borrow the fucking chairs you can haul ass to our house and get them. And bring them back the next day. Not the other way around especially when we’re not even attending. I had stopped going to Amway meetings and Ambot was not going as frequently by this time. The end was in sight!

We were in the car when the fucking Platinum phoned. It was around 8pm. The Amway warriors would be waiting for their cult leader to get the meeting going. Its my guess the sack of shit was sitting in front of the cult followers and had his phone on speaker.

The whole point of the phone call was to berate my husband because he wasn’t at the meeting. Ambot didn’t have the phone on speaker but I was sitting next to him and could hear the asshole chewing him out. Natter natter natter. Bitch bitch bitch. And Ambot took the abuse silently. Just drove along with the phone plastered to his ear listening to the sack of shit Platinum bitch him out. And taking it. He should have passed the phone to me and I’d have given that fucker an earful!

The next day my husband was talking to another ambot on the phone. I’m nearby and can catch his end of the phone conversation and I gather he was getting the gist of how he’d been the brunt of the cult leader’s rant at the previous night’s meeting. And then he says: “I deserved it.”

Shit! This is how Amway cult leaders brainwash their followers. They are brainwashed to believe when they don’t shut up and do as they’re told by their cult leader that they deserve whatever abuse is doled out to them.

It all comes back to “never question upline”. If upline is abusing you its because you deserve it.

Other “never question upline” comes up when ambots have questions about the Amway scheme. When my husband tried to talk to the Platinum about the compensation and said the numbers don’t add up and make sense to him he was brushed off with “don’t question me. Just shut up and do as you’re told.”

The cult leaders have no answers when downline starts to question how they’re being swindled. Or if the cult leader said something at a meeting and the cult follower investigated it further and found out it wasn’t true. Panic must set in for the cult leaders when they’re questioned so they fire back with the only ammunition they have “don’t question me. Just shut up and do as you’re told.”

Rather than debate controversial issues our upline was quick to point out negativity of various media sources.

“I don't watch TV. You can't believe what you hear on TV anyway.” Of course the WWDB Amway cult leaders don't want people to believe the stuff on TV. The news stories would cause ambots to snap out of the I-only-listen-to-positive drunken mindset of the brainwashed Amway IBO.

There is nothing wrong with positive thinking. The problem is our upline Amway cult leaders who insisted that this that and the other is “negative”. Brainwashing the IBO’s until they refused to even hear about anything negative.

At one meeting the Emerald drew out a quadrant on the white board to indicate IBO’s in various stages of climbing the Amway pyramid in relation to how much TV they were allowed to watch. Lowly ambots who were just getting started were in the zero TV watching quadrant. As an Emerald he was allowed to watch TV I just don’t remember how much he assigned himself. Another example of “don’t question me. Just shut up and do as you’re told.”

Yeah right just cause you tell me I can’t watch TV doesn’t mean I’m going to stop so fuck off!

What about reading the newspaper? That's considered negative as well. An IBO should only be reading positive business material, preferably books that speak positively about the Amway business.

What about looking around on the Internet? That’s considered negative as well especially if you end up at a website belonging to an Amway critic.

What about listening to the radio while driving the car? That’s also considered negative. Put in an Amway CD and crank those speakers!

Uh huh now that’s what I consider negative! Ha!

Success rate of telling someone who doesn’t like you to “don’t question me. Just shut up and do as you’re told”?

Zero! I do the opposite of what you Amway cult leaders order me to do! I hit the Internet looking for real information about Amway, real experiences by real people financially and emotionally devastated by this cult. They might not be happy positive stories but they’re real and true.

Not fakes like you Amway cult leaders.

Our Amway cult leaders were desperate to control the information their followers received because that restricted the ambot’s free ability to think for himself.

Our Amway WWDB cult leaders preached to us about not getting wrapped up in details such as how many customers we’re supposed to have in order to be earning a commission check from Amway. This questioning of upline authority could ruin our business even if we suspect we’re following upline that aren't exactly running their business morally or legally.

“Don’t question me! Just shut up and do as you’re told!”

IBO’s Are Better Than Everyone Else?

One of the things that really disturbed me about our Amway upline was their shitty attitude towards people who weren’t in Amway. These ambots were of the mindset that they were superior over the rest of the population.

They bragged to others that they drove BMW’s and Cadillacs. They neglected to mention their cars were 20 or 30 years old rust buckets falling apart and in poor mechanical condition. How can someone driving an old clunker be superior over someone who has purchased with cash a newer model car, maybe not of the expensive luxury type, but looks good, has a clean interior, and isn’t breaking down all the time I’ll never know. But then I was never a brainwashed ambot.

The IBO’s put on business suits and tell everyone they dress for success and that makes them superior to everyone else wearing casual attire. Wearing suits to all Amway meetings and functions is the dress code for these 8pm Amway warriors and in their delusional minds that makes them superior over everyone else who at that hour is relaxing in shorts and T’s, chilling out on the patio with a beer or watching TV. That also makes ambots superior because they would sneer at people relaxing in the evening and say how is watching TV making any money for you. Well at least they aren’t losing money by shelling out ten bucks to go to an Amway brainwashing session.

We’d have to arrive at Amway cult meetings an hour early because the cult leaders had brainwashed Ambot into believing that “serious business builders” arrive at least an hour early. So the early bird IBO’s are even more superior than the rest of the IBO’s who arrive closer to 8pm.

Yeah get there early enough and you can set up chairs! That’ll really make those IBO’s feel superior because they got assigned that task by some Amway cult leader.

So these superior ambot bastards get to the meeting an hour early and what do they do? They stand around with their cell phones plastered to their ear trying to show off an air of superiority over any ambots who aren’t on the phone. The superior ones on the phone are obviously conducting Amway business. Business is going great! Can’t you tell by the amount of time I’m on my phone?

Then they show off their superiority by being the first to kiss the Diamond’s ass who is speaking that night. They rush the stage after he’s finished brainwashing the crowd. Got to get close enough to press flesh and to have some of the superiority aura to rub off on them.

Add them all up and its what makes Amway IBO’s superior to everyone else in the world. That’s what their little brainwashed brains believe.

I fail to see how some brainwashed ambot who’s losing fistfuls of money in the Amway scam is superior to me.

I guess I’ll never get it. But then I’m not a brainwashed ambot.....

Freedom! Flush That Stinking Job!

Yes I actually had a searcher end up at my blog after doing a search for “Freedom! Flush That Stinkin Job!” In fact it took the searcher to my post about Get Your Wife Free.

Actually here I’m going to pretend I’m our Platinum and go off topic. The damnedest thing about that particular post is that I’m getting tons of hits from (I assume) men looking for information on how they can get a free wife. Sure there are some countries where the groom buys a bride from the bride’s parents but some of the searchers are here in the USA! Boy did these guys end up in the wrong spot if they’re trying to go el cheapo when it comes to buying a bride!

The only time I’ve ever heard the phrase “Freedom! Flush That Stinking Job!” was during the NBC Dateline story about Amway. For anyone looking for those links, its on Youtube:

And don’t all those morons look like they’re in a trance while they’re chanting?

Even more disturbing is what legitimate business operates in this manner? Amway the corporation tries to convince themselves and everyone else that they’re a legitimate business and for sure their ambots try their damnedest to convince everyone that Amway is not a scam but then you see a video like this. It screams CULT! I’ve been to a few business meetings over the years and never have I witnessed anything like that with any legitimate company.

To the best of my recollection I never heard that chant at any Amway meetings I attended. Could be another line of sponsorship that gets the cult followers to scream out that chant or perhaps the cult leaders have decided to lay off the chanting for awhile following the Dateline story.

Those Amway cult leaders stand on the stage and get their followers fired up leading them in the chant “Freedom! Flush That Stinking Job!”. The unfortunate reality for the cult followers are that they won’t find freedom and they won’t flush their stinking job. This is a scam! The only people in the arena who have the freedom to flush their stinking job are the cult leaders on the stage. They are ripping off their cult followers charging them big bucks to come into the arena and listen to their bullshit motivational speeches. The cult leaders are peddling dreams that won’t come true for their followers.

Don’t flush that stinking job! You need it to pay for functions like this and make your cult leaders rich!

“Freedom! Flush That Stinking Job!” That’s the battle cry of Amway warriors.

Those ambots need to stop chanting and get a clue.

Amway Warriors

At some of the major functions I attended I often heard the speakers from stage refer to the husband as a warrior. The man would call himself a warrior fighting for his family’s financial future. And the wife, good little Barbie Ambot, would look adoringly at her husband and sigh “My warrior.”

Too sickening even for a paperback romance novel!

Amway warriors. Off to fight a war. Of course the big battle is signing up new IBO’s and convincing other people to buy overpriced Amway products.

Ambot would be so fired up after getting home from the function that he’d often send me text messages signed “love, your warrior”.

I’m a pacifist. My blog isn’t the venue to get into a political discussion on any wars or civil unrest going on in the world but suffice it to say that pacifists oppose fighting and war and therefore the term warrior is not such a popular choice to sway any pacifists.

I couldn’t possibly be the only pacifist in a stadium with 10,000 people or however many the stadium holds.

Warriors! Sounds like a game kids play.

Maybe somebody else has better insight on why Amway Diamonds call themselves warriors. Off to war. Fighting a battle against those who oppose the Amway scam.

I came across a post written by a blogger who calls himself the 8pm Warrior where he discusses if MLM is a good opportunity for 8pm warriors. http://8pmwarrior.com/2011/01/is-multi-level-marketing-mlm-a-good-opportunity-for-8pm-warriors/

First off I want to say I love the name “8pm Warrior”. That is so true of Amway Ambots marching off to their 8pm cult meetings. This blogger is not an Amway IBO but when I first heard of him I thought he might be which is why I took a peek.

This particular post got a few comments including several from a “James” who admits to 10+ year involvement in Quixtar/Amway. He writes rather lengthy responses explaining his point of view as an IBO. A lot of typical Amway speak. To give the guy credit his responses are well written and thought out but for all I know he’s copied and pasted from similar posts that he plasters all over the Internet. Many months ago Joecool had a blog visitor named James leaving similar comments and responses to his posts. I can’t help thinking it might be the same guy because he invites others to contact him to further discuss the Amway opportunity. So did the poster named James who commented on Joecool’s blogs. Doesn’t really matter one way or the other except that Joecool’s “James” has not been heard of in a long time and I wondered if this was him resurfacing.

Lets all wait a couple of days and then go back and look at the 8pm Warriors blog and see if Tex has showed up to educate James on his idiotic comments!

Amway warriors? Go to bed little boys.
