Triggers

What happens when you run into someone you used to know in Amway or something triggers a memory of the Amway days or an Amway product finds their way into one of your friend’s hands?

We were watching Undercover Boss. One of the employees chosen to show the boss how to work in his department looked like our sack of shit Platinum. Ambot was actually freaked out a little even though we knew it wasn’t him - different state, different line of work, nicer person, etc. Ambot hasn’t seen or talked to the bastard in a long time and he would be affected differently than I am because he worshipped the sack of shit and I did not.

There always will be things associated with Amway that bring back bad memories or some disturbing aspect of belonging to this cult. I don’t run into the people anymore. They don’t live near me. Its not like I would see them in Wal-Mart buying reasonably priced products! Sometimes I’ll see an Amway product discarded somewhere. All I can do is shake my head and remember the post I wrote about how IBO’s are litterbugs! Like I need any further proof!

Any triggers of this past descent into hell are very minor for me and all it does is piss me off and I just write another blog about how my upline were a bunch of assholes and then I feel better and move on.

Sometimes I get angry for awhile but that’s more a reaction to how badly I was treated by the upline or how Ambot was treated. IBO’s lied and scammed money off us and told Ambot he’d be a loser if he quit Amway. It took him longer than me to figure out who the real losers are - the ones who still submit to their upline.

I’ve found the best thing to do is create better memories. Like taking that vacation the upline wouldn’t give us permission to take. Getting away to relax and have fun is a good cure to what bugs you. Seeing as how we no longer feed the cult machine we have more money in our bank account and have enjoyed several wonderful vacations since getting away from the cult. I have wonderful memories of walking the beaches of the world, the beaches I never would have walked if we hadn’t gotten away from the Amway money sucking scheme.

Although there’s not much that triggers Amway memories for me, when it happens I try to inject some humor into the situation by blogging about the assholes in my upline. Hell hath no fury like ambots who’ve discovered the truth!

I’m always a big believer in signs and how things in life have already been predetermined. I think there was some reason for us to have gotten involved in Amway and with this particular group of cult followers. Whether that reason is for me to write about the experiences and give voice to others who are not quite ready to curse out their upline or to let others know they are not alone in what happened to them, I don’t know. I might see the signs but not understand what they mean! I’m a big believer in karma. Although I don’t wish anyone ill health, accidents, or death on anyone, I know that something bad is going to happen to the people who attempted to destroy our marriage and put us into financial ruin. Perhaps divorces, foreclosures, and bankruptcy are in their future. Its the old karma’s gonna bite you in the ass. You do something bad to someone, some day something bad is going to happen to you too.

Triggers. Just make sure they’re the type that are in your mind and not part of a gun. Don’t be like our upline and take vigilante justice, though to be fair the only person in our upline who I ever heard threaten bodily violence against anyone was our Platinum. Not everyone can be a pacifist.....

When it comes to triggering old memories, treat it like a new year. Out with the old, in with the new. There’s so much in my life that brings me happiness and triggers good memories that they far outnumber the bad memories from the Amway dark days.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Seeing as how its Thanksgiving I thought I could do one post not devoted to cursing out my former upline.

Going back to my thread on how IBO’s are litterbugs dropping their Amway garbage all over hotel and school auditoriums, Tex brought up a valid point that litterbugs are everywhere and he mentioned sporting events so I thought I’d do a thread totally unrelated to why my former upline are a bunch of assholes.

Oops. Couldn’t help cursing them out just once!

I think when somebody doesn’t like someone or something they are a lot quicker to see the faults. I sure didn’t like being dragged off to Amway meetings and could usually find something to point out that pissed me off. Don’t talk negative sure didn’t apply to me when I was stuck mingling with Ambots.

OK, so let me try to think about litterbugs at sporting events. I’m not a big sports fan so I only go to some sporting event about once every 10 years. It only seems like its more often! Years ago my parents took me to a Mets game at Shea Stadium in New York City. I don’t remember sports fans littering but then I wasn’t looking for it either. The things I do remember include a fly ball coming our way that we all jumped to our feet to try to catch but it went somewhere higher in the stands than where we were sitting. The only other thing I remember was that I wanted a pretzel but my father wanted to buy me a hot dog. I didn’t want it so I went hungry. How unpatriotic is that not wanting to eat a hot dog at the old ball game.

Many years ago in my pre-Ambot days the guy I’m seeing’s mom has tickets to a Rams game at the Anaheim Stadium and she gives them to him so he can take me. I’m not a football fan and all I remember is the Rams were playing a team from Arizona - is there an NFL team out of Phoenix??? Once again I don’t remember any litter but I wasn’t looking for it. Two things I remember. Wherever he parked in the lot we joined a huge throng of fans walking to a fence that was partially torn down. The people in front of us clambered over the fence. So here I am wearing a blue jean mini skirt, you know one of these cute little numbers that serves no purpose other than to impress the guy you’re with, and I have to climb a fence. Yeah me and a couple of other young ladies ahead of me all dressed similarly for their guys who I think all probably appreciated the view of the three of us climbing the fence. The other thing I remember is the Rams lost. I don’t remember no litter but climbing a fence in a mini skirt holds a lifetime of memories.

How about the Pasadena Rose Bowl Parade? Even Anna Banana is not crazy enough to get out on the street 24 hours in advance and camp out on a deck chair. Waking up at 2 or 3 in the morning to drive down and find a parking spot and some prime sidewalk is another story. I’m sure there must have been litter all over from the 24 hour party but I don’t remember it. Not as much as the year I remember a pick up truck driving up and down Colorado Boulevard with a guy in the back pounding on his drum set. Or another year when Ambot didn’t want to join the cars that were jamming the way we wanted to go so he decided to seek out a “shortcut” that probably added another hour traveling time for us. Trust me on this. All routes out of Pasadena are jammed for at least an hour after the parade ends.

So Anna Banana has subjective memory. If its something I associate with a bad experience I’ll remember ever nasty little detail. If its something fun I remember the good stuff.

One thing I can be thankful for today is that I’m no longer losing money in Amway.

Amway IBO Litterbugs

Whenever we attended an Amway meeting at a hotel meeting room or school auditorium the IBO’s brought their own refreshments, brandishing bottles of Perfect Water or that nasty piss drink XS and packages of food bars.

The amazing thing at the end of the meeting these slobs left their trash wherever they’d been sitting. The auditorium would be littered with Amway garbage. Very few attendees were conscientious enough to take their empties and trash with them.

Flash back to the meetings the Platinum held. He often was met with objections that people couldn’t attend the out of state major functions because they couldn’t afford it. “Go out and collect cans,” he’d say.

After the Amway meetings held at school auditoriums or hotels at least one person in our crossline would look for a janitor and ask for a garbage bag. Then they’d walk around the auditorium picking up the empties and root through the trash bins for any cans or bottles that had been tossed in there.

At least they were being environmentally friendly. No big deal to me. I recycle too.

For some reason these bottle and can collectors really bugged Ambot. He thought it was embarrassing that someone in his crossline was scrounging through garbage.

I thought it was even more embarrassing that IBO’s who bullshitted others into thinking they’re responsible citizens are litterbugs.

Moving the litterbug issue inside our home Ambot was the worst litterbug around when it came to Amway products. In his quest to hyper-consume as many Amway products as his credit card allowed he littered the house with empty XS cans, Perfect Water bottles, and wrappers from food bars. His mother was a slob who didn’t teach her children how to clean up after themselves. Everyone in Ambot’s upline failed to teach him to put his empties into the recycle bin and wrappers into the trash. Or more than likely they convinced him that was what a wife was for.

I was cleaning up after the biggest Amway litterbug around constantly clearing the living room, kitchen, bedroom, and office of the Amway shit that Ambot had no clue what to do with once he finished consuming the product. I gave him instructions on how to tidy up after himself and put the empties into the recycle bin but he didn’t get it. It really pissed me off that none of his upline gave him instructions on what to do with his trash. Maybe he’d have listened to one of them instead of me. Or maybe he’s been conditioned by too many years of his mother’s slovenly ways to just leave your garbage wherever it falls.

I realize that not every Amway IBO is a litterbug but from what I’ve seen the evidence speaks for itself. Amway garbage strewn everywhere at auditoriums and strewn everywhere in my house.

Don't even get me started on the Amway trash that littered my car.
