Residual Income

So why did Ambot really get involved with Amway?

Bottom line is he was brainwashed. He believed the lies he was told by his sponsor and upline. He liked these people and wanted to impress them, dropped out when the money wasn’t there, and got involved in Amway again a few years later. The second time was the dangerous time with the cult in full swing.

I think the lie Ambot liked the most was the one about residual income for life. Work hard at Amway for two to five years and then spend the rest of your life collecting residual income and never work again. Walk the beaches of the world with your upline who also are collecting their lifetime residual income. The money will just keep coming in after the IBO has put in the required two to five years investment in Amway.

Sounds nice. Looks good on paper. Unrealistic unfortunately.

Every Platinum, Emerald, and Diamond that I’ve seen claims they’re earning big bucks, at least $100,000/year. But why are they still working J.O.B.’s and putting in tons of hours speaking at Amway meetings? Motivating (threatening) IBO’s so they don’t quit. If the upline stopped speaking at meetings, their downline would forget about them, drift away, lose interest, and quit.

There are other ways to earn residual income and keep money coming in that have nothing to do with Amway. Here are a few I like:

1. write bestselling novels and live off the royalties
2. invent something like a Chia pet and sell the rights to it
3. buy real estate and rent out the houses or office buildings
4. save and invest your money and live off the interest

There are other ways to acquire residual income, some requiring more effort than others, those samples are the ones that appeal to me.

Amway requires lots of effort and yields residual income to only a tiny percentage - less than 1%. Probably even less than 1% of 1%. Can anyone actually name one person - other than the families of the Amway founders - who do nothing in the Amway business, have stepped off the stage and never show the plan, just do whatever they want, and have lots of money rolling in to fund their lavish lifestyle?

Ambot is working on accomplishing some of my residual income suggestions. If he invests just a fraction of the time invested and effort at trying to build an Amway business, he’ll find a lifetime residual income from a more honest venture.

  1. Im living in thailand almost year round after retirement. Where the avrg income over in thailand is 200-300 a month or less. People in amway dont realize that most of the world live on 1.00 a day. We should be grateful with what we have and not be so greedy. If you're into having maid service, beaches, doorman, ritzy apartments etc then north americans can retire early in thailand.

  2. It is the dream or hope of IBOs to attain lifelong residual income. But Anna is right. Why are crown ambassadors still working? Why don't any diamonds walk away and collect loads of money while living on the beaches of the world? The answer is simple. Half or more of Amway's IBOs never renew after the first year.

    1. They do live on the beaches bonehead. And Amway leaders love when non business orientated people don’t renew.

    2. Bullshit Anonymous. When people don't renew the Amway cult leaders are outraged because they lose dollars in commission from the drop outs. And why are you leaving comments on a 12 year old post? Pretty high up on the search engines isn't it?

    3. Anna, the Anonymous guy at 9:30 PM is just an asshole who can't stand it when Amway is attacked. He posts on a 12-year-old thread, and he spouts what he knows is a complete lie, namely, that Amway up-line is happy when people don't renew their membership.

What planet is he living on? Amway up-line goes into a total shit-fit when any one of their IBOs decides to call it quits.

    4. You're right Anonymous. Amway upline has a total shit fit when anyone downline calls it quits. Just another Amway asshole outraged that the truth about this scam is available for all to read.

  3. Anna, there's people who are DEAD whose estates are still earning income from Amway. Indeed, check through Achievers recognitions is there numerous trusts that get recognized as qualifying at new levels. When Amway introduced the new Founders recognition levels in, I think, 1999, there were quite a few black and white photos of the achievers as the qualifier had long ago died, but their business lived on.

Out of interest, what's the percentage of people who say they to write a book that successfully live off royalties?

What's the percentage who invent something, heck what's the percentage of those who patent their invention (again making them a fraction of a percent of a percent) that generate an income they can live off? How many can save the millions needed to generate a significant residual?

  4. Hi IBOFB. Isn't Margaret Mitchell's estate still earning money too? Must tick off the heirs!

I have no idea the percentage of people who write a book and live off the royalties. Probably about the same percentage as those who live off Amway residual income.

In North America less than half of 1% can save millions and live off dividends generated by their investments.

  5. Nice try by IBOFB. Even if a tiny tiny number of people may have some income still rolling in from Amway, it doesn't mean that Amway is a good business opportunity today. Elvis's estate still gets residual income but it doesn't mean that people should try to become the next king of rock or whatever title Elvis once held.

  6. I'd be surprised if it's anywhere near as high as half of 1%. Do you have a source for that figure?

I think a misunderstanding arises when people promote Amway and residual income and say "you don't have to work anymore" ... that doesn't mean you won't work any more. You just now have choices. I know Diamonds who continue to work their non-Amway careers because they are doing something they love. I know Diamonds and abve that continue to build and promote Amway because it's doing something they love. I also know Emeralds and Diamonds who have stopped building Amway for years and lived off the income while persuing other ventures, and later decided to start building Amway again (US Diamond Mike Wilson for example, who has publicly stated he is back building because he wants to build to EDC). I also know platinums that have been inactive for decades and have continued to earn a significant extra income on top of their job income.

I'm not quite sure why people find the "residual income" idea so hard to accept. If you introduce the products to someone and they like them and continue to buy them, and you continue to earn a percentage, it's a residual income. All you need to do is get enough people regularly doing that to have whatever income you like. Obviously there'll be a natural rate of attrition, but if you introduce and train and reward other people for bringing people into the organisation then they can be generating the replacement volume lost through attrition. It's not a complicated concept.

If residual income were truly an attainable benefit of building an Amway business, why doesn't Amway state it in their business materials?

  10. Residual income- my foot. All you would have is residual agony.

After 6-7 years of putting in our time, money and effort to build the business, when we decided to become inactive, we still had 3 legs in width who were plugged into the system and actively doing volume. As soon as we told our upline about our decision to become inactive, they started coming up with ideas so that they could restructure the group to get all the 3 legs under one leg. It did not matter how much effort we had put in, all that mattered to our upline was we would not be putting in any time, effort or money and would still be making $300-400. BY the way I was part of Ajmani group, Emerald Ramesh Raghavan- one of the worst line of sponsorships you could be in.

They could have asked to buy our business from us, or ask us to pay them some % of BV money, but they did no such thing. One of their new ideas is if initially only one of the spouse signed the application form, then if something like our case happened sign up the other spouse in some other leg they are working with and build the business. There is this concept of taprooting (just another word for stacking), where they sign up people under other people so that they could make the uplines buy more products to reach higher pin levels. Amway supporters will cry that this not case and blah blah blah.

Regarding IBOFB's rant about dead people making residual income through the Amway business, I want to ask how many dinosaur diamonds were featured in the recent list of IBO's who received the Founder's Emerald/Founder's diamond bonus. Not many. That means they did not even qualify as Founder's Emerald in the last 2 years. If people who have been in the business for 20+ years and have been namesake diamonds for many years, are not even founder's emerald in reality, Amway surely must be some awesome residual income business.

If you're such a big fan of the Amway racket, why are you here at an anti-Amway website, leaving comments on a 12-year-old thread? Got nothing better to do? Why aren't you hanging out at a mall or Starbucks to see if you can sign up another asshole in your down-line?

Or maybe you failed at Amway, like 99% of all IBOs.

  11. Anonymous - residual agony - I like that! I see you put in more than your 2 to 5 years to live off residual income for the rest of your life like we're always told at the meetings. Sorry it didn't quite work out that way for you. Hopefully some Amway supporters reading this will see no matter how hard you work and how many years you put in, that promise of residual income will probably fall flat.

  12. Amway is a great company. Its the only company in the world which is privately owned and no debts and no stock trading. Its a company with great ethics and backup. Companies come and go, companies fell apart in the recession time but Amway stood still.
NOW THE REAL PROBLEM is that conventional MLM market has gone saturated be it either Amway or ACN or any other company. Other companies have understood this fact that this is the age of the internet but Amway still has not understood it. Whenever this question is raised to upline we get an answer that amway do not permit the use of internet to avoid and protect its IBOs.
Anyway, I have my own Internet Marketing Business now at http://MillionDollarResidualPlan.com Feel free to check it. I have also made a course for Facebook Marketing at http://YourBWW.com. If you notice this URL, I used it for BWW site and now as a test site for Facebook Marketing. I spent some money in the beginning in Internet Marketing industry to learn about it and now I am making money. Listen IBOs I am actually making money from internet as opposed to what it is taught at the functions that if you touch the internet you will only loose money. It is said to avoid you to look for any negativity about Amway. This is totally understandable to keep your team together as it takes years to make a team and minutes to loose it.

I figured out after getting into this industry that BWW and Amway is no different. Just like folks in internet marketing industry sell stuff BWW sells the stuff too. Just like I sell the stuff to my loyal downline diamonds also sell stuff to their downline too. After all this is how we all make money, SELLING!

Wake up IBOs, send a plea to Amway and BWW to let you use the internet for marketing yourself. Make a brand of yourself, sell yourself. Send letters to Amway to BWW to your diamonds to your platinums to let you guys use the internet to market yourself. Internet is big and you can market anything to anybody to any part of the world while sitting at home. There is personal attention in the internet businesses.

Don't take me as wrong. I am not putting anyone down. I am not putting Amway down or BWW down. They both are great companies. I am just putting down their some of the old fashioned policies. The policies that make the IBOs at the bottom suffer a lot. Its really very very hard to get up. You need a lot of luck.

He also spouts the usual propagandist bullshit about "making a network of people who want to live happier and healthier lives." That can be translated as follows: "recruiting a big down-line of dopes and losers who will buy tapes, cds, and books from you every month and pay fees for voicemail and endless meetings."

I know how Bill Britt of BWW education support system used to tell the stories about his early days of soap selling amway business. I remember how Angelo and Charlie Durso tell their stories. I remember how Charlie Durso used to tell that he knew he was not good at prospecting or follow up so he used to show the plan to each and every single person so that who are serious will join and who are not will fade away so that he dont have to do the follow up. :) What basically he was doing was playing the numbers game. What Bill Britt did was a numbers game. Show the plan to 1000 people and 100 will join and you will be a diamond.

  14. To protect its integrity and keep the business clean. Well, the fact is that money is produced and made by numbers game and the volume created by the numbers. The diamonds are already creating enough volume for Amway that Amway do not care how the IBO suffer at the bottom. The commissions are divided in the Diamonds empire. Thats is why Bill Britt created the education system. Most of the money is made in the education system now. After years of falling face down in conventional MLM I figured out that BWW is no different any other company. The CDs are subscribed weekly so that a residual income can be created. A website is introduced by BWW so that a residual income can be created. Literature packs are created so that residual income can be created. All other products are introduced to create residual income for the IBOs. So when asked that why there are such products that are needed to subscribed monthly the new IBOs are given the answer that its because of their own benefit. It is never told to them that it is to create residual income, not a big one but a tiny miny at the lower levels. Still better than nothing. When the hotels are booked for any functions they have to be booked via the link from your upline diamond. Every time a function is announced a hype is created to book the hotel or the rooms will be booked. Which is true in most cases. I was told to book the hotel via upline diamonds link and I always did it blindly. I was told that using the diamond's link the room will cost cheaper. I hurriedly booked the rooms for me and my team, all the time. Once I had to miss a function because of some family thing and then a day before the function I decided to go to the function. I didnt had a room so I thought to get the room when I actually reach the function. I was amazed to see that room actually cost less than it was provided from the diamond's link. I did not say anything to anyone as you are told to be quite and not talk anything negative. Which is what I like.

    ReplyDelete
  15. The IBOs at the bottom are just spending too much money than they are making and end up broke like me. I have a good team but it broke as it is expected that people fade away. I used to contact in the malls and in the pharmacys, macys, sears, best buy, stop and shop. You name a place where I have not contacted. But after all there is a certain miles or radius you can contact. In conventional MLM its a luck. The growth has come to a halt in creating diamonds. There is atleast 1 diamond a year now and that too if you pull up some strings.

  20. Having been in Amway for quite some time, I came to realize that brainwashing techniques were used (sleep deprivation, cheering for another person's success because that means you're next, etc.)

Just have everyone who's considering Amway or Quixtar search for sites that show how the real money is made - books, tapes, seminars. Heck, that aspect of the business was so successful one of the biggest promoters, Ben Novack, was murdered for his estate / inheritance (Just Google Ben Novack murder). Didn't Bill Britt own a company just to produce the tapes everyone got on "Standing Order"?

So, while Amway / Quixtar may not be a scam, it is certainly not a business built on honesty and integrity. If it were, wouldn't it be explained that there's serious money in those books, tapes and seminars?

Comments are moderated but we publish just about everything. Even brainwashed ambots who show up here to accuse us of not trying hard enough and that we are lazy, quitters, negative, unchristian dreamstealers. Like we haven’t heard that Amspeak abuse from the assholes in our upline!

If your comment didn’t get published it could be one of these reasons:
1. Is it the weekend? We don’t moderate comments on weekends. Maybe not every day during the week either. Patience.
2. Racist/bigoted comments? Take that shit somewhere else.
3. Naming names? Public figures like politicians and actors and people known in Amway are probably OK – the owners, Diamonds with CDs or who speak at functions, people in Amway’s publicity department who write press releases and blogs. Its humiliating for people to admit their association with Amway so respect their privacy if they’re not out there telling everyone about the love of their life.
4. Gossip that serves no purpose. There are other places to dish about what Diamonds are having affairs or guessing why they’re getting divorced. If you absolutely must share that here – don’t name names. I get too many nosy ambots searching for this. Lets not help them find this shit.
5. Posting something creepy anonymously and we can’t track your location because you’re on a mobile device or using hide my ass or some other proxy. I attracted an obsessed fan and one of my blog administrators attracted a cyberstalker. Lets keep it safe for everyone. Anonymous is OK. Creepy anonymous and hiding – go fuck yourselves!
6. Posting something that serves no purpose other than to cause fighting.
7. Posting bullshit Amway propaganda. We might publish that comment to make fun of you. Otherwise take your agenda somewhere else. Not interested.
8. Notice how this blog is written in English? That's our language so keep your comments in English too. If you leave a comment written in another language then we either have to use Google translate to put it into English so everyone can understand what you wrote or we can hit the Delete button. Guess which one is easier for us to do?
9. We suspect you're a troublemaking Amway asshole.
