This Is The Year!!!!

“This is the year when you’re going to go BIG!”

That is the upline’s battle cry at the beginning of the year and heard during Dream Night, a WWDB function that happens early January.

The reality as a new year approaches is Ambot has been in “the business” for several months. To recap Ambot’s track record:

1. one downline signed up who quit a couple of weeks later
2. thousands of dollars “invested” in “the business” purchasing Amway products and attending functions
3. got two friends to come to board plan meetings.
4. got one acquaintance to come to a meeting
5. Grand Opening of “our” Amway store - a few people showed up, no purchases
6. held an afternoon tea social which was a disguise to sell Artistry cosmetics and other Amway products. One friend made some purchases.
7. two friends made some small pity purchases to support Ambot’s business unrelated to attending any Amway events
8. hundreds of hours wasted studying Amway literature, dealing with phone calls, text messages, listening to Kate messages, attending meetings, listening to tapes - oops better make that CD’s before IBOFB shows up again to say tapes haven’t been produced since he was in diapers!  (OK Rocket or Tex here’s your chance to say he still wears them!)
9. alienating friends and relatives with obnoxious behavior (parroting upline IBO’s)

Ambot dutifully did everything his oh-so-wise-upline counselled him to do. Well not quite everything - the exception would be he didn’t leave me. So far he hasn’t found anyone who will duplicate what he does, though I doubt there are many people out there who want to drink a case of XS Energy Drinks daily and cram in multiple food bars.

So how the hell will the new year be any different?

It won’t.

It’ll be the same thing. Throwing away money on overpriced, mediocre products. Losing money attending functions. Wasting time. More obnoxious comments directed at anyone who doesn’t support his Amway business. All backed by the upline’s promise that this is the year he’ll be going BIG in “the business”. Gotta get him to hang on for a few more months so they can make more money off him!

Ambot’s story is the same as other struggling IBO’s. The upline feeds them hope with one hand while stealing their money with the other hand.

“This is the year you’re going to go BIG” is an ego booster to get IBO’s to hold on to Amway for a little longer just in case they were thinking about quitting and not renewing for the new year. IBO’s can’t quit now when success is just around the corner!

Translation: you can’t quit now when I need more of your money for my share of the tool scam and I need your PV so my dreams can come true.

I decided to make a BIG move to get Ambot out of Amway and away from the cult leaders. Success!

Probably not what the upline had in mind when they said this is the year when you’re going BIG.

This year we go BIG by not renewing the Amway “business license”.

This year we go BIG by not alienating friends and relatives.

This year we go BIGGEST by not putting up with the fucking upline.

  1. Good thing you put the CD correction in or IBOFB would have had a reason to comment as he seems to have run out of steam when it comes to commenting on REAL FACTS about Amway and the multitude of Scam Artists that represent them in various "motivational organizations". I have no doubt in my mind that I alienated friends and family during my 5 year foray with WWDB, some of those relationships will never be the same again. I came across a button that I must have bought at FED or some other function that says "Some Will Some Won't! So What! Move On!" That pretty much sums up my attitude towards everyone that had no interest in becoming my downline including friends that I had known for years.Instead I thought that my upline were my best friends yet they dropped me as fast as they could when I left the business, I never heard from them again nor did they return my calls.
You did the right thing by going Big and leaving a cult that is only a drain on finances and relationships, we can only hope that more people will see the light before it is too late.

  2. Ha ha, IBOFB has already been in today to read this post and also the comments on my post about the recession proof business. He's a hypocrite calling Rocket a coward yet he won't respond when called out! Ha ha.

Its stories like yours and mine that get the truth out there to people considering Amway or worried family and friends putting up with an obsessed IBO. This blog saw a huge spike over Christmas with new visitors spending a lot of time reading older blogs. Kind of a sad reflection. Shows the IBO in their life is disconnected at this time of year and people are seeking out information and some solace that they're not alone when it comes to family members brainwashed by this cult.

  3. Anna, Good luck with your BIG plan. Hope you succeed in your Amwayectomy and take the $700/mo and show Ambot how to create a retirement fund.

    Happy new year!!

  4. Thanks Graham. Happy New Year to you too! Hope your investments/retirement funds go big this year too!

  5. lol i enjoy it when ibofb comes to your blog or one of the forums. Have a feeling his ex wifey left im cause he was becoming to freakish trying to build this pyramid. Maybe he choose the scam over his ex cause of the advice from his cult leader. Love to see ibofb respond to my comment.

  6. IBOFB's ex wife would probably look at this blog and say she went through the exact same thing. I've read other websites with reader feedback going back 15 years and Amway has played a huge role in relationship breakdowns. I wonder if Amway has ever been sued for loss of affection.

  7. I have no idea if ibofb's Amway business was part of the reason for their divorce, but I can believe she divorced him entirely for being a jerk. Remember, I met ibofb in person, and can attest to the fact he's a jerk.

  8. Hi, Anna;

Love your posts. Couldn't find you for a few days after reading a bunch of your stuff.

    Thanks for the belly laughs.

You have summed up succinctly what so many of us suffered in Amway.

Too depressing to go into all of it anymore. Thanks for keeping up the exposure.

    You rock!!

  9. Tex I believe you when you say the man is a jerk but to give the benefit of the doubt to IBOFB and his ex he probably was a decent person when she met him. Being a jerk is not an attractive quality to women so it would seem he became a jerk after they were married unless he was a jerk beforehand and a master at hiding it from her. He probably became a jerk after getting involved in Amway and his LOS turned him into a jerk, that I have no doubt about. Men who are otherwise happy, loving people become obnoxious, ugly human beings who look down on anyone not involved in Amway and that's what turns them into jerks.

  10. Anonymous - thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying the posts. This blog is different than others that go more into detail the Amway business. I write about the effect Amway had on my husband and our relationship and our emotional and financial wellbeing. Its also the place to be if you can't stand your upline and enjoy living vicariously while I trash our ours! There's just too many similar stories out there like ours. Even more horrifying are the people who invested a lot of years and money and face bankruptcy and foreclosure and divorce because of Amway.

  11. Anna, i dont think ibofb was always a jerk. Had a friend who was a decent guy till joining amway. Then he changed as a person and even tried prospecting me at a mutual friends funeral.

  12. I think ibofb was a jerk from birth. You don't become that obnoxious merely from joining Amway, it is ingrained into your (lack of) personality.

Some women are attracted to jerks, then they get too much of them and become aware they are repulsed from what initially attracted them.

  13. My husband was always a sweet, nice, considerate human being until he joined Amway and that's when he became an obnoxious jerk. Now that Amway has been exorcised he's back the way he used to be.

On the other hand our sponsor was an obnoxious asshole before he joined Amway so he already excelled at those personality traits and was able to expand on them while in "the business". He quit Amway after we did and he's still an obnoxious asshole. So you're right. Some people have that ingrained into their personality from birth.

  14. I don't know if I'm right or not, it is my opinion ibofb has always been a jerk.

  15. Well I'll take your word for it Tex. You're the only one who actually admits to having met IBOFB.

  17. Anna;

Your site and others like it are simply the blow-back after decades of amway's scam.

They are finally getting a taste of the destruction they dished out so willingly.

  18. Thanks Anonymous. Other blogs focus on how Amway is a bad business and I focus more on the effect the business has on the marriage. Also on how much I dislike the upline! I think some readers live vicariously through me!

    ReplyDelete
  19. There are many tapes/CDs describing how a marriage relationship was helped by Amway. That's why I focus on the Amway Tool Scam, it is the truth behind the glowing BS. You won't find any tapes/CDs describing the Amway Tool Scam doesn't exist.

Comments are moderated but we publish just about everything. Even brainwashed ambots who show up here to accuse us of not trying hard enough and that we are lazy, quitters, negative, unchristian dreamstealers. Like we haven’t heard that Amspeak abuse from the assholes in our upline!

If your comment didn’t get published it could be one of these reasons:
1. Is it the weekend? We don’t moderate comments on weekends. Maybe not every day during the week either. Patience.
2. Racist/bigoted comments? Take that shit somewhere else.
3. Naming names? Public figures like politicians and actors and people known in Amway are probably OK – the owners, Diamonds with CDs or who speak at functions, people in Amway’s publicity department who write press releases and blogs. Its humiliating for people to admit their association with Amway so respect their privacy if they’re not out there telling everyone about the love of their life.
4. Gossip that serves no purpose. There are other places to dish about what Diamonds are having affairs or guessing why they’re getting divorced. If you absolutely must share that here – don’t name names. I get too many nosy ambots searching for this. Lets not help them find this shit.
5. Posting something creepy anonymously and we can’t track your location because you’re on a mobile device or using hide my ass or some other proxy. I attracted an obsessed fan and one of my blog administrators attracted a cyberstalker. Lets keep it safe for everyone. Anonymous is OK. Creepy anonymous and hiding – go fuck yourselves!
6. Posting something that serves no purpose other than to cause fighting.
7. Posting bullshit Amway propaganda. We might publish that comment to make fun of you. Otherwise take your agenda somewhere else. Not interested.
8. Notice how this blog is written in English? That's our language so keep your comments in English too. If you leave a comment written in another language then we either have to use Google translate to put it into English so everyone can understand what you wrote or we can hit the Delete button. Guess which one is easier for us to do?
9. We suspect you're a troublemaking Amway asshole.
10. Your comment got caught in the spam filter. Gets checked occasionally. We’ll get to you eventually and approve it as long as it really isn’t spam.
