Amway Artistry Cosmetics

I’ve been getting a lot of hits recently for Artistry Cosmetics so I figured its time to devote another post to that shitty overpriced low quality lousy selection fucked up Amway mess that women are expected to slop on their faces.

Unknown to me Ambot bought a very expensive $60 face cream. I cringed at the price tag but seeing as how he’d already bought it, I used it. It didn’t do anything a $15 bottle of Oil of Olay’s face cream can’t do for me so I didn’t buy it again after it ran out. Yikes! I still can’t believe Ambot was so brainwashed he’d spend that kind of money when there’s a better quality product out there at a quarter of the price. With the $45 in savings we could have gone out and had a decent dinner somewhere. Sure beats the upline splitting a $45 commission!

I usually buy makeup from a friend who sells Avon. Unlike Amway, Avon always seems to have sales going on. Lipstick, eye shadow, or nail polish for $2.99? I’ll take a few colors. Deodorant at .99 cents each? I’ll stock up for a year. I love a good deal.

Never got a good deal on piss all nothing with Amway!

Luckily I was well stocked up on Avon products prior to Ambot getting involved in Amway. I told him I still wanted to buy Avon from our friend. Better prices, larger selection, equal quality. Ambot was outraged. “You need to support our business and buy from our store.”

Like shit. I’m a victim of the Amspeak that he’s duplicated off the fucking upline.

So I point out the obvious. “If we’re the only customers then we’re a bunch of fucking idiots for selling our products too high priced.”

A few Artistry products slunk into the house courtesy of Ambot. A couple of bottles of overpriced nail polish including a bottle of final gloss coat or whatever its called that I don’t normally use. A very expensive tube of lipstick in a shade that I hated because Artistry has such a limited choice of colors. There was a bottle of really stinky body lotion. What did they do? Harvest it from a dead eucalyptus tree? A tube of burnt caramel smelly hand cream that made my hands all itchy and scratchy after I rubbed it in. Also tried Amway Artistry eye cream. Didn’t do piss all for me. Oil of Olay and Avon products work MUCH better. In fact several women discussed the same thing that Artistry’s eye cream didn’t do nothing for none of us. At which point IBOFB very stupidly walked into the conversation and suggested that we were putting the eye cream on incorrectly and gave us instructions to which he got laughed at for his trouble. Women who’ve been putting on cosmetics for years know how to apply eye cream. We don’t need some arrogant shithead man telling us how to apply cosmetics. Or tampons either!

At every Amway meeting the upline lied about Artistry being one of the top 5 cosmetics in the world. According to my research, depending on whose list (usually magazines do these surveys), Artistry falls somewhere between number 15 and 30, which is not too shabby in the greater scheme of things, but never in the top 5, though Avon usually is. I guess not too many ambots think about doing research to see if their upline is lying or not. I’m not an ambot so I had no problem hitting the Internet to source out the lies told by our lying scheming upline assholes.

The same fucking assholes that tell you that you can’t believe anything written on the Internet because its a bathroom wall and full of lies. Then they try to promote Amway as an Internet business. Fucking double talking morons!

What I eventually found out is that Amway’s Artistry cosmetics are in the top 5 “prestigious” cosmetics. Its a survey run by a company called Euromonitor where Amway pays them to run the survey. Well you get what you pay for. Pay Euromonitor enough money and choose your spot on that list.

And who the fuck is Euromonitor anyway? Like anyone on this side of the Atlantic has heard of them. Why not use a well known American survey company? Probably because the well known American survey companies have already rated Amway Artistry cosmetics and the competition beat them out.

Now here’s the thing for women buying cosmetics. What’s the criteria we’re looking for when buying make up or skin care products? What is important to us?

Price is certainly a factor. We like getting a good deal. I can buy Oil of Olay face cream products at the drugstore between $10 and $20 depends what I’m buying and that’s an average price range for most cosmetics companies that sell similar products. Avon has some great sales. I can usually buy what I want for $5 to $10. Better and better. Switch my buying habits to the best bang for my buck for a product that has good results for me!

To be more specific I like a tinted face cream with an SPF of at least 15 and I don’t want to pay any more than around $15 tops for it. Amway does not sell this product, or if they do its come on since I quit and I shudder what price they’d be charging if that $60 face cream in the tiny container is a benchmark figure. To get the same Amway benefits I’d have to buy several different products. So start with the $60 face cream, add $20 for Amway’s sunscreen and say another $40 for some bronzer make up. 3 different products for big bucks. I got what I needed on my last order from Avon. $5! And only one product!

Selection is another factor especially when it comes to products with color like lipstick, eye shadow, and nail polish. Walk into a drugstore and there are literally hundreds of products. Likewise in Avon’s catalogue. Hundreds of colors and a variety of prices anywhere from $3 up. Maybe 20 colors from Amway. I don’t remember what they cost but I remember being horrified paying that much for them.

Quality is another consideration. We want the product to actually work for us. What works on one person doesn’t work for someone else. It takes a little trial and error to find out what works for you. Fortunately drug stores carry enormous selection of different brands at reasonable prices.

Looking good. Yup. Women wear make up to look good. If we prefer light pastel tones that match our skin type that’s what we choose. If Amway only offers deep brassy cosmetics that would look more styling on another skin type we are not going to be happy wearing them and looking like a clown. A fucking Amway clown that is!

I never ever heard a Platinum, Emerald, or Diamond speaker say Artistry is one of the top 5 “prestige” cosmetics. They always said Artistry is the top 5 best selling or top 5 best in the world.

No woman considers “prestige” when buying makeup. I mean really who gives a shit about prestige when more important considerations are price, selection, and quality. That’s how women select their cosmetics. We like to get good value for our money.

We don't give a flying fuck when some dumb ass ambot tells us that Captain America or whatever starlet is wearing Artistry. At least in the commercials. Its called paying someone big bucks to endorse your product. If McDonald's paid me a million bucks to appear in a commercial and take a bite out of a Big Mac and gush about how good it is I'd do it too. "This Big Mac tastes like a million bucks! Yummy!"

And we espeically don’t give a flying fuck how “prestigious” the cosmetics are. What are we going to do. Strut down the sidewalk and accost every woman and say “I’m wearing prestigious make up and you’re not. I’m in Amway and that means I’m better than you because I wear prestigious make up and you don’t. So ha! You fucking loser wearing Revlon!”

That’s part of our Platinum’s teaching. To insult women’s make up choices. http://marriedtoanambot.blogspot.com/2010/10/insulting-womens-makeup-choices.html

    4. MLM owners know how to create crap out of thin air. Top on the list for a successful MLM is a way over priced "phenomenal product and / or service" and then a scare tactic about all other competitor product quickly accompanied by an phoney outlandish claims - Like MonaBots' claim of a super food/fruit that cures cancer that's why nobody in Brazil has cancer, in fact cures everything including stinking thinking. Tell the lie enough times multiply with everyone now has an opportunity to get rich and people buy into it. These bozos laugh all the way to the beach, while the MLMbots' cash is in the bank. The MO is the same across the board in pretend MLM "industry."

    5. Once upon a time, a large box of Artistry crap arrived on our doorstep. My wife tried to use some of the makeup, didn't like any of it, and wanted it returned. Ambot daughter cried and said that her mom wasn't supporting her in the business and refused to allow her mom to return it. Eventually the Artistry crap ended up back at Ambot daughter's house, but it never was returned to Amway, and the debit to my wife's account was never credited. (Not Amway's fault, but that is how it is with Ambots. They'd let Amway crap rot in a drawer before they'd ever ship any of it back to Amscam.)

    7. Quixtarisacult - My theory is that women do not like Artistry cosmetics as much as men do because they tend to believe the bullshit propaganda surrounding the product. The thing is they don't have to wear them!

Yeah they all cry and say you're not supporting their business. My husband was the same way as evidenced by him not wanting me to buy Avon products as I needed them. Artistry can not compare.

Yeah they all bullshit you about getting a refund when it comes time to see those dollars back in your pocket good luck.

    8. Hellol!

My name is Carlos. I am in Amway, since 1997 and love it. I love the XS Energy Drinks and Sports Nutrition products. I do promote the beauty products and have done some nice parties. I am planning some more right now.

      I was making $1500/Month at age 18.

Never seen anything like that. A lot of rejection involved but that is life. I do not believe it is any different in any other Direct Sell. Turnover occurs but that is to be expected from any commission based position. Tell me about that being in stock brokerage.

I have found out that if you offer it enough to different customers, you will get a clientele and repeat business.

Amway prepared me mentally to pursue my current job as a stockbroker.

Avon is a great company with great products. However, I do not wish to limit myself only to makeup. Amway has a fantastic line of products of all kinds that have an actual market if people know what you do.

I am sorry to hear those issues dealing with "Ambots" in marriage etc. If people alianate spouses etc with their Amway business, I believe the problem lies in them, not in Amway.

Any job of business can lead you to become alianated from spouse/family. It is not unique to Amway.

Regarding the "tools scams", I do not mind people making money of "tools". Hell, someone has to pay the speakers and their expenses. Why would I expect speakers to pay their own way if they are invited to give a speech or seminar etc?

I do think people started to make way too MUCH from the tools and promoting that way too much. That practice along with the "curiosity" approach were banned and tightly controlled by Amway in Asia.

Asia is leading and growing leaps and bound. Now even the US is finally growing. Amway has clamped down on US tools abuses, finally, better late then never.

Go Amway! Love ya! Keep it up!

    10. Naw, I don't believe it for a second. He forgets that we are familiar with the statistics of Amway and what would be involved to be making that kind of monthly income off of it. How many people in his downline? What is the NET PROFIT, i.e. money in pocket after deducting the costs, tools, etc? And no way I would believe "oh I'm not spending money on the tools or functions". Sorry, no way someone is THAT brainwashed sounding parroting amspeak without very heavy doses of it.

    12. To each their own. I'm currently an IBO with Amway and I seem to be doing pretty well. I don't find any of what you say offensive, because as a salesperson and network marketer, I know that it's all a numbers game. For everyone who feels as you do, there's at least 10 others who appreciate or can appreciate the products I represent. I'm sorry that your experience was negative enough to justify devoting so much time and energy towards a blog working towards discrediting something that could turn out to be a lucrative opportunity for the many who may read this and be discouraged by your words. I hope the best of luck in all that you do, whether it be to pursue a conventional or unconventional career path.
      Peace be the journey, friend.

    13. Anonymous - just keep track of your expenses. And no Amway is not a lucrative business. Have you looked at those cards that you give out to prospects that show expected compensation. Look at the small print. Its a tiny fraction of 1% who can expect to make money. Those are Amway's numbers. Reverse it. That's over 99% failure rate. Good luck to you. I think you're too nice to have what it takes to be that fraction of 1%!

    14. (Same anon), My name's Earl btw.
I keep track of my expenses for sure, aside from the initial business license fee of $160 (and I received a lot of value from the starter pack that comes with it) I haven't spent a dime on any of the self improvement material or sales material. Everything I use for personal education I've derived either from the website or have been provided by my upline. They're well aware that I don't plan to buy any of the material so they let me borrow the books and CDs knowing that I'll return them. I'm well aware that the statistics prove that there's a high attrition rate. It's to be expected in a business like this and I believe it's because there aren't a lot of people who have the discipline to operate without management or supervision. Public schooling has a tendency to condition 'followers'. (No offense to public education though, my mother's a teacher). A large number of people average maybe a couple hundred a month. That's the sort of income I've been looking at anyway. That's still a couple hundred every month that I wasn't making before. Will I be quitting my job anytime soon to devote myself to this as a career? Most likely not. But does it help to pay my monthly expenses? Absolutely. I suppose it's all a point of view thing. I can promise you that I'm absolutely honest in all of my dealings and networking, I don't advertise any sort of 'get rich quick' concept.

Overall, you're probably right. I may not have what it takes to be in that top percentage. I wouldn't call that failure, because few in this world really have what it takes to build that kind of wealth to begin with.

      Delete
    15. Earl, like I said you have too good of an attitude to make it in Amway! You must be new. At the beginning they always let you borrow the books and CDs. At the beginning they're always really nice to you. Then maybe around 3 months mark if you aren't signing up new prospects and bringing people to Amway meetings the upline will become abusive to you. They'll start to threaten you if you don't buy the books, CD's, tickets to functions, etc more commonly referred to as tools. That's how the real money is made. The Diamonds that started off their groups are the ones making the money selling these things. That's the bulk of their income not the commission on Amway sales. And you're right there's not many people who can build that kind of wealth no matter what industry they're in.

  2. Anna - In this post, you have touched on grey area in the 'direct selling income opportunity' fairytale; for there are some people who say that all 'direct selling' is a fraud to a greater or lesser extent. Personally, I tend to agree with this dark analysis and these are my reasons.

In reality, there are a minority of single level 'direct selling' companies that actually pre-date the 'Amway' mob. Perhaps the best known of these, is 'Avon' which started out in the early 20th century as a Californian manufacturing-company selling a reasonably-priced, average quality perfume, door to door using non-salaried commission agents (many of whom were women). For a long time, strict limits were placed on the numbers of agents signed-up in any given geographical area in order to avoid saturating the market and giving the brand a bad name. 'Avon' was, in fact, a form of door-step peddling, but on an industrial-scale and with a fancy name.

However, today, few people in the USA buy things on the doorstep from peddlars. Nonetheless, 'Amway', like the majority of today's so-called 'direct selling' companies still claims to be a multi-level 'direct selling' company offering commission payments to it agents on their own 'sales' and on the 'sales' of their recruits, etc. ad infinitum. In reality, these so-called 'sales' (i.e. regular payments made by particpants for effectively-unsaleable wampum) are merely the cover for a form of sustainable Ponzi scheme based on endless-chain recruitment.

Aaround 30 years ago, the 'Amway' bosses tried to buy 'Avon', but US government commercial regulators stopped the deal. The reason for this was connected to the fact that the bosses of the 'Amway' mob had recently been prosecuted in Canada for major tax fraud.

That said, there is no evidence that a significant percentage of agents of single level 'direct selling' schemes can expect to earn and overall net-income, let alone their livings, by regularly retailing products to the public for a profit. It all depends on who is defined as 'the public.' Companies like 'Avon' have retained a minority core of long-term effectively-salaried agents who organize the activity, but the income of these persons has depended on the constant role-over of transient non-salaried agents who sell products mostly to their friends and relations (rather than to the general public), but who invariably give up when they fail to make any real money.

'Direct selling' even in its least damaging non-cultic form, has become a sinister means of exploiting its transient participants personal relationships.

    1. David - I would say there are way less victims out there who complain about Avon as compared to Amway! With Avon you are getting decently priced products. You're not usually getting ripped off with what you buy and the prices are low enough that if a color doesn't look good on you you can throw it out and you haven't wasted a lot of money.

Unlike Amway. We threw out hundreds of dollars of unused vitamins and other useless shit.

When I was a kid there used to be Avon commercials on TV. Ding dong the Avon lady is calling. My friend who sells it likes the products and started selling them years ago to friends so they can get what they like too. She probably doesn't make much money at it. She has a full time job and unlikely she'd be quitting that anytime to focus solely on Avon. I'd say she is typical of most women who sell Avon. They like it and use it and decided to sell it to friends for a few extra bucks. Undoubtedly they make a lot more money than anyone in Amway ever does for a whole lot less work and investment. I don't think I've ever seen a pushy Avon salesperson. I've met a few other women over the years who sell Avon. Sometimes at the dog park I'll see someone has left some Avon catalogues out. Its not a high pressure sales pitch. Look at the catalogue and if you see something you want to buy give me a call. Though my friend usually sends a reminder email every month to let me know she's putting in an order and let her know if I want anything.

Yes I was aware that Amway tried to buy Avon years ago but not of the reasons the sale didn't go through. I used to use it against the ambots who sneered at Avon products and I'd say the company was good enough for your bosses to try to buy them out but Avon didn't sale, so what are you bitter?

  3. Alright now Anna! Jeeze just a few minutes and you cover way more than I ever heard taught at those phoney Friday ambot get togethers i.e. PASE. Forget McD, scAmway and their kingpins should pay you a million big ones to teach this beauty class you just gave. That is on condition that you can curse them out. I would sign up just to LOL as I watch ambot faces hearing their gods being cursed out. Now that would be the gig-curse out kingpins, get paid and ambots have to attend. You know the don't-miss-any-association crap.

"Pay Euromonitor enough money and choose your spot on that list."
I guess Euromonitor took a leaf from our BBB. I guess since scAmway has that covered and their ratings business is a known whitewash maybe they wanted to spread their wings and make their "prestige" claim crap sound independently issued, so they looked elsewhere. They found the perfect pardner - Euromonitor over the pond.

But I am surprised didn't they pay enough to get top notch position or what. Top 5 "prestige" obviously ain't cutting it - sales numbers don't lie. Knowing how ambots like to make outlandish claims like "the best of the best bar none" they passed number 1 and chose just top 5. Why?

Ambots show up here are very likely shocked at the language which is why some of them feel compelled to leave a comment. The thing that scares most of them is that maybe just maybe I'm talking about them or their upline. People who used to be in Amway must find me hilarious. Finally someone is letting the upline have it!

Its funny though the first time we were in Amway/WWDB I don't have the same feelings about our upline. They were in no way as dangerous as the last time around. They were annoying trying to get us to go to Amway meetings and buy products but not as bad. If there was any brainwashing going on I wasn't aware of it or they weren't very good at it. At no time did they try to break up our relationship. I don't have any contact with them but occasional contact with their son who was not an Amway distributor. He's a good guy. I don't have any desire to curse these people out. They were no way as evil as my last upline.

  4. Anna - What you describe confirms why 'Avon' and other similar, single level, 'direct selling schemes' occupy a confusing grey area. It's also confirms why the bosses of 'Amway', 'Herbalife,'etc., have been so keen to be compared to the likes of 'Avon,' etc.

Although independent consumer reports show that 'Avon' products have been reasonably-priced and of merchandisable quality, other evidence shows that very few active 'Avon' agents have made real money by regularly selling significant quantities of these products to the public for a profit. Most have quit over the years after selling only small quantities largely to their friends and relations. Whilst long-term 'Avon'participants don't seem to have wound up destitute and dissociated from all their previous social contacts

As you know from personal experience, so-called 'MLM income opportunities' have all been variations of the 'Amway' original, i.e. essentially the same, dissimulated, blame-the-victim closed-market swindle, drawing the unwary into secondary, cultic, advance fee frauds a.k.a 'tool scams.'

Unlike 'Amway,' 'Avon' does not fit the above description, nor has it exhibited the identifying characteristics of a cult. However, anyone considering 'Avon' as a viable means of earning a net-income, should follow exactly the same common-sense advice that I gave yesterday. Furthermore, the wider world should consider the alarming fact that, for decades, the bosses of 'Avon' have allowed themselves and their company to associate openly with numerous 'MLM income opportunity' rackets (via the so-called 'DSAs').

Sadly, this makes the bosses of 'Avon,' silent-parties to an ongoing, major, organized criminal enterprise.

    1. David - I would say the reason most Avon reps don't make that much money is because Avon products are so reasonably priced and often have very good sales so the profit margin is extremely small. Like I said I think the majority of women who sell products only do so because they like Avon, get a discount on their own purchases, and make a small profit off their friends who buy products through them. My friend has no interest in recruiting any other Avon sales reps and having a little sales force beneath her. I think most Avon sales reps don't look at this as a real income generating business. More like coffee money. On the other hand you don't see Avon sales reps all over the Internet bitching about tool scams and being brainwashed.

Mary Kay cosmetics might be another story!

  5. Anna - That is a fair analysis which reflects the very low average earnings data I have seen about 'Avon' in the USA and Britain. Long-term participants generally seem to have had no objective other than to make just enough pocket-money in 'Avon' to pay for their own expenses and 'Avon' cosmetics (which have always had a reputation for being reasonable value). As far as I am aware, no one in the USA or Britain has given up their regular job and wasted tens of thousands of dollars as a deluded de facto slave recrutiter for 'Avon,' and the company has never been the subject of multi-million dollar lawsuits brought under pyramid fraud and anti-racketeering legislation.

Again, your description confirms why the bosses of 'Amway', 'Herbalife,'etc., want to be compared to 'Avon.' Indeed, if you look on the Net. you will find evidence that small-time confidence tricksters have also pretended association with 'Avon' in order to approach their marks.

In the past, I have spoken with former 'Avon' management staff in the UK. One such person privately expressed serious concerns about 'multi-level direct selling schemes.' Off the record, she admitted that, even though she had 'encountered lots of Amway people at the DSA' she was well-aware that 'Amway is widely-considered to be a cult and a con.' I then asked her the following question:

Given what you have admitted to knowing, what would be your own attitude if a close friend or a member of your family told you that he/she had joined an 'MLM' scheme?

The former 'Avon' manager refused to reply and pretended that my question was hypothetical and unfair. However, this was a perfect example of the moral cowardice displayed by countless, interested observers of 'MLM income opportunity' fraud, for decades.

Anyone who is, or has been, involved in the management of any single level direct selling scheme, automatically has a severe conflict of interest when it come to telling the truth about 'MLM income opportunity' frauds.

    1. David - all I know is that cosmetics usually expire in about 6 months and have to be chucked out. It hurts a lot less to toss out a half used $3 lipstick from Avon than one that cost $25 from Amway.

So what are you doing going around harrassing a poor Avon lady for anyway? I wouldn't be able to answer that either.

    3. Holy fuck! Paranoid much! It was probably some fucking Amway asshole that sent out that hoax letter about the cosmetic companies that used lead and caused cancer to fuel their own paranoia and cause panic in consumers. Why the fuck would I want to check the FDA report? Every woman who uses lipstick knows the FDA has minimum levels of allowable lead in some lipsticks. The woman can choose lead free or minimal levels. Normal women aren't so fucking paranoid as Amway assholes. And holy fuck again on the price of Amway's lipstick. Talk about a rip off! Lipstick only costs $1 if that to manufacture including the packaging. If brainwashed Amway Ambots are happy what they're paying for then why should the rest of the normal world give a fuck. Take your paranoia and shove it up the ass of one of those toys from China that people are freaking out about lead. Holy shit! You fucking Amway assholes try to incite paranoia and fear in people and then claim you have an expensive solution. Like fuck off!

    4. The bottom line is that U.S. medical literature has yet to record a single case of anyone's coming down with lead poisoning through lipstick use. (And, in any case, contrary to what is claimed in the post quoted above, contracting cancer is not one of the recorded adverse health effects one is likely to suffer through excessive exposure to lead.)

I use a variety of products, and one info source is beautypedia.com, and it even has Artistry reviews, most of them classed as poor quality. Also, many cosmetic companies own numerous brands, and higher cost means basically paying for high end packaging. Give me a good product at a less expensive price, and I'm happy.

Ambots parrot their uplines because individual opinions are anathema to Scamway.

    7. Hi Rita. Thanks for stopping by to share your experience. It sound like you got the old bullshit Amway pitch that their products are higher priced to reflect their quality. If that was true Amway shit would be priced at several pieces for a penny! LOL! I'm with you. I'm happy buying a better product a lower price.

    8. Anonymous - why wouldn't Avon speak to David? It's not like he's a fucking lying scamming Amway asshole.

    9. Anna, I do "sell" Avon. I do not recruit, nor do I leave catalogs wherever I go. I usually buy what I like in the demo book, and am required to do nothing. I only recommend, if asked, a product I like. Avon right now has too many skincare lines under the Anew umbrella and the pricing is high. A reason it is hard to earn with Avon, is that there are so many reps in any area.

In my neighborhood alone are three other reps. We all feel the same about it. If friends or family want something I sell it at cost.

Amway truly believes its hype. The cosmetics are awful, and I did try them way back when.

About 15 or so years ago, Avon tried a more upscale Mary Kayish line. To sell it, we were trained and had to buy the startup kit at $1,500. I refused and ordered the products that seemed usable. Same as catalog but a pretty jar. The line failed big-time.

Ironically, one of the better creams is Nurtura, I don't know if the name has changed. It's the pink cream. When it's on sale, a great buy. I also like their liquid eyeliner, the gel liner and the moister lipsticks. And the mascara.

NYX is one of the best cosmetic lines I have seen. MAC comparable and cheaper than Avon for some items.

    10. Hi Rita. I used to buy Avon from a friend and she said the same thing that she sold to friends and their sales mostly covered the cost of the products she bought from Amway. We had a falling out and now I buy Avon from someone who sells it at a flea market for good price. Don't know if the seller is loading up when they're on sale or buying off Avon reps who are leaving the company. Doesn't matter. Just got a good deal on tinted SPF 15 moisturizer! $3 cheaper than I ever saw it on sale at Avon! LOL! Yup I know Nurtura. Still have a little bet left. I was using it as night cream after Avon stopped selling the night cream I liked. That's the problem with Avon they keep discontinuing the products I like!

Mac was the cosmetic line that our sack of shit Platinum had a huge hard on for and was constantly criticizing it. That's what its all about in Scamway mocking other companies that sell similar products that Amway sells.

  6. Anna - This wasn't a poor 'Avon' lady whom I was 'harrassing.' This was a former company officer of 'Avon' in the UK. I began to investigate exactly how much 'Avon' managers had known about the 'Amway' mob in particular, and about 'MLM income opportunity' fraud in general, for a very specific reason. At the time, a former 'Avon' manager was the none other than the spokesperson for the so-called 'UK DSA.'

During the UK government's prosecution of 'Amway UK Ltd.,' had investigative journalists approached the so-called 'UK DSA' with potentially embarrassing questions about 'Amway', they would have found themselves talking with a charming innocent from 'Avon' who hadn't got the beginnings of a clue what has lurked behind 'Amway'.

  7. Hi Anna,
You mentioned Mary Kay above. I've read some sites online that point out remarkable similarities of the "Mary Kay Culture" with Amway.

I found this hilarious(and yet eerily true-to-life) video on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4i77D-qFKoM

What is amazing is you will notice as it goes on that you could very easily substitute the word "Amway" for "Mary Kay" in the conversation with the tricks, double speak and lie tactics which are used in trying to reel in a sucker. Cults are cults are cults.

    1. Davd - I'm sure Mary Kay didn't start with the intention of being a cult but there it is. A cosmetics cult! Many years ago a former co-worker was absolutely begging me to have a Mary Kay party in my house but I wouldn't. It already had somewhat of an undesirable image back then too.

    1. Hi Guys!

You were not an unsoportive spouse. He just needed to respect your wishes. I am sure if he took that approach along with your upline, the vibe would have been different even if you still would have quit.

Your were also not "negative or unchristian dream stealer". I h8 those accusations. But I am sure they are made. Hell, there are millions of us out there and about 10,000,000 people have recycled through Amway.

Avon's style differs from Amway mainly in that more men are involved in Amway and it is more male based and at worst with more pressure applied.

But that too varies....I cannot apply that to all groups. It would be unfair for me to make such blanket accusation.

But when it comes down to it, Amway is just like any other promotional/sales based occupation. It is a numbers game heavy on rejection. The trick is to politely go through the numbers game, use common sense and not alianate people or offend them. That varies from person to person....

To me, Amway has given me more than I can measure even if I decide to quit forever. I do not think I would be pursuing a career as a stockbroker or in that line and feel comfortable doing so without my involvement in Amway.

I think I would have been looking for a nice, safe, secure job that I could sit on for 50 years and "retire", without my involvement in Amway and my thought shift.

Thank You Amway for more than I can say...(O:

People in Amway are the most fucking angry people I've ever seen. I've never seen so many scowlers at my life except at Amway functions. The reason ambots are so angry is because they're losing money, their homes, their marriages, and their sanity and they hate that. I even wrote a post about angry ambots and I'm going to bring it up to the front again because you really need to read it.

Not sure how anyone can take anything you say seriously with all of the profanity and clearly you are in love with AVON and just very angry with your husband. Honestly, it sounds like you really don't care much for your husband. Perhaps you should sell AVON since you love it so much. Hope you don't ruin your marriage over your attitude.

  13. Dear Anna,
I LOVE THIS BLOG. Recently a family member who I haven't spoken to in years (despite living in the same city), reached out to me and ask me if I'm free several times after I kept saying that I'm not. No "hello, how are you doing?!" or any form of respect. It's all about HER. I kept asking her why she wants to meet and she doesn't give me an answer. I found out from other family members that she's a part of Amway and I'm 99% sure that she's trying to recruit me and my husband to build her downline. She never really had friends growing up and apparently, I'm the "big fish" she's trying to catch in hopes that I'll get all of my friends in. I'm glad I found this site to avoid her nonsense. Everything described her regarding these ambots describes her personality, exactly from the "keep negative people out of your life and if your friends don't want to be a part of Amway get new friends" bullshit to the false Artistry claims. She does not know that I know all about scAmway and it's nonsense so for the sake of not damaging our relationship even more than it already is, I'm just ignoring her messages! I'm worried she's going to ruin her life, though because she seems to have lost interest in her education thinking she will get rich from this. She's been in almost a year now and still a broke young gal. How much longer do you think she'll last? She can do whatever she wants with her life but it bothers me that she is getting family into it, which is what tears family apart! Thanks and again-- great blog!!!

    1. Hi Anonymous. Damn my response to you ended up in cyber hell somewhere. Glad to hear you're loving the blog. Sorry to hear about your family member. She's been brainwashed by the Amway cult and they're all taught to be self egotistical bastards who don't care about anyone else except their own greedy materialistic needs. How long she'll last? How much longer can her money last? Once the savings are cleaned out and the credit cards maxed out, not much longer. Probably she'll quit by the end of the year if she's a broke as you say. 95% of IBO's quit within 2 years, the majority within the first year.

This is an old post and a lot of my readers are going to miss your comments so I'm going to bring it to a new post sometime soon.

  16. Ok, I see every bodies point of view. However have you ever asked yourself how every other major department store made a recurring income? No, you probably didn't. So why is it that people have a perception on Amyway just because it may or may not be direct selling. If it is over priced than why would you buy it simple, you wouldst . But I buy quality and all honesty I love their washing powder. If a friend is reffering to you cause they are in the Amyway so call CULT well so be it its their choice. Do you judge people going to church? My saying is why judge people because of your failure or your opinions. Do you think Robert kiyosaki said oh well McDonald are going to fail because people didnt like their chicken nuggets? highly doubt it. I really think people need to take a good look in the mirror and say hey why it that I need to judge so much. Take a breathe and say well as long as I am happy who really cares what people do. Most of the time people find it easier to reject rejection.

By the way, only 12 year olds call people "haters" for stating facts as opposed to scamming "dreams" to empty your wallet.

  18. Glad to be here, Anna. I have been following your blog. My escape was about 15 years ago. Yeah, escape because upline treats you like a hostage. And last year, one of my husband's friends and his wife fell for Scamway. One night at dinner, Mrs. Moron folded her hands and said "I now own my own business."

My husband said "OMG, not that crap!" And we told the we had luckily only lost $1,000. These two loons have alienated all their friends, because everyone saw through the pitch, said no, and told them to get out of it now.

Anyhow, their plastic is maxed, the house refinanced, and they are their only customers. And there are so many with this same situation- it's like "The Manchurian Candidate," total brainwashing.

    1. Hi Rita. You know 15 years ago or 25 years ago or last year - nothing ever changes in Scamway.

Its just laughable how Ambots have been brainwashed that they "own their own business". And you can't do nothing to convince them that if your last name ain't DeVos or VanAndel then you don't own an Amway business! LOL!

Yeah you were lucky to only lose $1000. These days an Ambot can easily lose that much in one month.

And yes Amway is all about maxing up the credit cards and alienating everyone you know by bugging them to go to Amway meetings or buy overpriced shitty Amway products. And yup we heard the same bad advice at Amway cult meetings being told to put your house up and use equity to buy more Amway shit.

Its frightening the brainwashing that goes on but Amway is no different than any other cult in the tactics they use.

    2. And there is an Artistry skin crime that sells for $368, shades of Creme de la Mer - La Mer is owned by Lauder. When the Avon purchase was being mentioned, quite a few of reps I met at a district party were going to quit if the sale went thru. That would include me.

When I tried Quixtar selling, I was told selling Avon wasn't a conflict. Really? It's a direct conflict.

    3. Rita - OMG! $368 for skin cream? LOL! Well if Amway purchases the product from Lauder then they have to mark it up so high that everyone can make a chunk of commission off it.

The lying assholes in the Amway upline will tell you anything to sign you up. In the MLM pyramid scheme world it probably is a conflict.

Comments are moderated but we publish just about everything. Even brainwashed ambots who show up here to accuse us of not trying hard enough and that we are lazy, quitters, negative, unchristian dreamstealers. Like we haven’t heard that Amspeak abuse from the assholes in our upline!

If your comment didn’t get published it could be one of these reasons:
1. Is it the weekend? We don’t moderate comments on weekends. Maybe not every day during the week either. Patience.
2. Racist/bigoted comments? Take that shit somewhere else.
3. Naming names? Public figures like politicians and actors and people known in Amway are probably OK – the owners, Diamonds with CDs or who speak at functions, people in Amway’s publicity department who write press releases and blogs. Its humiliating for people to admit their association with Amway so respect their privacy if they’re not out there telling everyone about the love of their life.
4. Gossip that serves no purpose. There are other places to dish about what Diamonds are having affairs or guessing why they’re getting divorced. If you absolutely must share that here – don’t name names. I get too many nosy ambots searching for this. Lets not help them find this shit.
5. Posting something creepy anonymously and we can’t track your location because you’re on a mobile device or using hide my ass or some other proxy. I attracted an obsessed fan and one of my blog administrators attracted a cyberstalker. Lets keep it safe for everyone. Anonymous is OK. Creepy anonymous and hiding – go fuck yourselves!
6. Posting something that serves no purpose other than to cause fighting.
7. Posting bullshit Amway propaganda. We might publish that comment to make fun of you. Otherwise take your agenda somewhere else. Not interested.
8. Notice how this blog is written in English? That's our language so keep your comments in English too. If you leave a comment written in another language then we either have to use Google translate to put it into English so everyone can understand what you wrote or we can hit the Delete button. Guess which one is easier for us to do?
9. We suspect you're a troublemaking Amway asshole.
10. Your comment got caught in the spam filter. Gets checked occasionally. We’ll get to you eventually and approve it as long as it really isn’t spam.
